Don't scrap it. I love the soft focus; I think that sometimes roses look harsh if the focus is sharp. This works really well.

because roses are lovely and soft and pretty and velvety [can go on forever...] and i wanted to accentuate that

Beautiful red, I wouldnt scrap it. You can always use a digital program to sharpen the image. I use it because most of my pictures are blurry.
