You know that is one plot hole that I can't quite figure out. Where Harry got his glasses. I mean the Dursley's were supposed to be very neglectful and yet Harry has prescription glasses.

Just something that occurred to me as I was writing a Harry Potter fan fic.

Well, I think though they didn't care for Harry, they gave him the barest necesities. I would guess that it was Aunt Petunia who reluctantly gave Harry glasses, it was she that Dumbledore sent the Howler to so I'm sure Dumbledore firmly suggested from the beginning that they at least provide Harry with accurate eyesight. Plus, they were probably the cheapest pair they could find.

That's one idea. 
Though, I had an idea that I would do in my fan fiction "Harry Potter and the Witch Named Emmanuelle" where Ron asks Harry about that and Harry tells this story about how he was sent to a primary school (grade school) and his eyesight was tested by one of the teachers and she gave him a pair of glasses.

Anything Harry Potter is awesome in my opinion, but this photograph is really quite lovely as well!
