Cranberryjaw moved slowly as they gathered the scrawny piece of prey they had earned for the day in their mouth - another clanmate had hunted it, but it was almost nighttime, which meant Cranberryjaw had finshed their duties for the day, and the kits and queens had already eaten. Without an apprentice to train, Cranberryjaw had no task for the now-named Berrypatch, and knew better than to think they would get to sleep so early in the night. They padded from camp with the silent company of Nettlestar, who followed them in a previous agreement.

They barely spoke on the way, having briefly discussed going to the Moon's Eye to grieve for their lost loved ones earlier in the day. Both cats understood that their loved ones were no longer buried in their clan's burial ground, as they were no longer members of GroveClan. They had both lost cats during their time in GroveClan, and thus Pineclaw, Thistleblossom, and Lizardkit were buried in the Sun's Eye, out of their reach.

They could, however, make makeshift graves for their loved ones in the Moon's Eye and grieve there. No prey was to be wasted, especially during leafbare, so Cranberryjaw would not leave the scrawny mouse in their jaws at the small pile of stones they'd put together for Pineclaw sometime when RidgeClan had more recently formed, but they would lie near the grave markers to eat their mouse while Nettlestar sat nearby, and perhaps their ancestors would silently join them in thanks.

As they reached the Moon's Eye, Cranberryjaw took a seat in front of the pile of stones, clearing snow away from the area once again so that they may crouch and bow their head, praying silently in thanks for the prey and in thanks for the teachings Pineclaw once provided them.

Cranberryjaw ate their mouse in silence, slowly sitting up to bury the bones once they had cleaned them, before taking a seat nearby Nettlestar, watching both the sky and the landscape around them quietly. After several long moments, Cranberryjaw spoke up, "It's time," in order to pull Nettlestar from her thoughts. The two stood after another moment of somber silence, before beginning the trek back to RidgeClan camp, a sort of somber quiet, heavy like fog weighing their fur down.
