I think you're the first person to comment on any of the pieces I commissioned who knew where she is from.

I used to play Rhapsody all the time when I was little, and still have a lot of the music from the game to this very day xD
I couldn't forget such a good game, it was part of my childhood ;w;

I still play it once a year. I'm still upset that we never got the sequels.

Indeed... I looked for a long time for english rom versions online of the sequels but never found any. I have Rhapsody for the DS, but it's just not the same as it was on the PS2; even if a lot of people didn't like the singing or music, I enjoyed every moment of that game, so the fact the DS version only plays the songs in japanese is a bit of a let down to me.
I even went as far as to find and download some of the soundtracks from the sequels xDD
I do love the music from these games, maybe someday we can get them released outside of japan... but it's almost unlikely sadly enough :c

There was a translator working on an English patch for Little Princess but he had to stop for reasons. He is open to pass the project along to someone else but I don't know if he found anyone. It has been "almost done" for years now. The DS version really seem to hurt the chances of seeing the sequels make it here as well. And that was suppose to have part of the third game on there.
sigh... it is hard loving an obscure game. A niche so small we can't get some dedicated translators to help us out.

I do believe that some years ago I had found a nearly completed full english translation for the game on a site (Sadly i don't remember what the site was) but they had almost everything translated on a word page document, and what wasn't translated remained in japanese. I had watched a few playthroughs on youtube and other sites to see where the dialog matched up at ad it was fairly accurate, I believe they had stopped near the very end of the game.
It's sad truly because I was ecstatic when I found out Rhapsody had sequels, but between Rhapsody and another game that was also never released outside of japan or translated into any other languages; I kinda lost hope for either games ever making it western or else where :c
I don't even remember the name of the other game anymore... it's been years, but it was a game very close to Rhapsody in style ad story. Hopefully someday someone will pick up where others left off or if I can ever master japanese maybe I should try x'D

I know Gamefaqs has translated texts of both games. I don't think they did the PSP spiritual sequel yet but there is a guy who did a YouTube Let's play where he translated as he went for that.
I just wish NIS made more references or cameos for the Marl Kingdom games. Marjory doesn't even have dialog in the Disgaea games and the only other game Cornet got a cameo in was La Pucelle Ragnorak, which we also didn't get in the US and it was DLC so even the fan translation doesn't have it. Crea Rosenqueen got in Disgaea 5... Or was it 4... by being on the side of the cooler at the store, advertising milk or something.

Hm... I've played Disgaea 5 and Disgaea 4, I'll have to investigate that about Crea... but yea, I wish they'd release those games here as well, though it's been many years since those games were released in japan and it's not likely to happen any longer sadly. They really should pay more homage to Rhapsody and it's sequels, that game was pretty special to a lot of the people who played it when it came out...
It wasn't so much the game itself but for me it was the music and characters that made impact. I mean yea, a lot of the characters were just goofy and out there, but Kururu really struck it home when you found out who she really was, and even the second game; from the very little of it that I've seen that was accurately translated in game they expanded on Cornet wondering what happened to her mother and Kururu reacting to different situations that reminded her of her past protecting Cornet. They really could do a solid for the series re-mastering/re-releasing the whole series to other places then just japan, but if I'm correct Rhapsody didn't meet the sales requirements here to have the other games sent. That fact if true as well as the age of the series would make it a double negative basically :c
Maybe someday if enough people requested and fought for it but... not unless that happened, and like me a lot of people either went on not knowing the game had sequels or stumbled upon them by complete accident.

Not many people even heard of the game. Even the people who are NIS fans usually think La Pucelle was the earliest NIS title to make it to the US.
And the DS version didn't fix any of the glaring flaws with the game, like the dungeon design (or lack of) or the difficulty or telling players where to go. Seriously, I'm not sure how anyone was suppose to know where to get the mine key. And I'm not a big fan of the new artist they got.
But the characters and the story was so sweet. The songs are super fun too. I still sing Someday every once in a while.
NIS needs to make a remastered or a reimagining and actual market it. It could do well enough... It just needs some love.

Yup... my mom got the three mainly mentioned games at the same time pretty much, the first Disgaea game, La Pucelle and Rhapsody... I grew up between those series, and I still follow a lot of things between the NIS and Square Enix companies (I myself hardly branch out to other games not from Nintendo, Square Enix or NIS). Disgaea practically exploded with popularity here and in japan, La Pucelle also had it's fair share of love from people, but Rhapsody was kinda left in the dust... I feel like they include Marjoly and some other few characters into the Disgaea games in hopes of reminding people that Rhapsody does exist (But they all basically fit under the same title, being the three mentioned games are all inevitably part of the same gaming universe) so I often ponder if they're trying to show Rhapsody and La Pucelle any love through the title that beat them both out or if it's just because they're all taking place within the same universe.

They have been trying to create and flesh out their brand, I know I loved the cameos... before they started charging for them. With Marjoly, they didn't let her actually say anything. The banter towards her was just what her minions would say about her minus the Marjoly's reaction, which is usually the best part. At least in Phantom Brave, Myao actually got to let her personality show, even though it was jokes about being flat-chested which I don't think was really talked about until the other games.
They need to have a game that includes all their franchises. Not just as cameos as Disgaea does it. Just a big ol' fanservice game or fighting game where they can all be in the same place. All of NIS' games seem to take place around the same time, except the Rhapsody games and La Pucelle, which take place over 4 generations. Shouldn't be that hard to cobble up a story to stick them all together.
