Losing numerous loved ones to a disease made Pipetia withdrawn and focused on scientific experiments and research during most of her youth and eventual reign. In exchange for the Wood family's assistance during these efforts, Pipetia agreed to marry their son Oak without much thought - romance was not on her agenda. Pipetia found Oak pleasant enough company as her fiance and later husband, but other than building a friendly relationship with him and doing what was needed to bear their children, the pair were not romantically close. However, they did have respect for one another and would listen to anything the other had to say - such as after Pipetia found out about their daughter's want to explore the sea and her relationship with a merman.
