A gorgeous retouch I worked on a few hours ago. I thought yes she's gorgeous but I wanted to challenge myself. I have set dark skin toned models to a even more darker color.. and Lighter models to even lighter shade.So I set a challenge loll.. Light skinned to a dark skinned model.. I think the results are alright perhaps lacking something? I hope someone can critique and help me figure out what I'm missing.
P.S once I get to the bottom of my issue.. I'll fix the higher res. image and upload! Thanx

Wow I like the change. I think the right eye looks a bit toooo glassy for me- but it's still really very beautiful. You did an amazing job with the skin tone as well. I'm jealous of your editing talent!

This may sound weird but with the darker skin tone she actually looks like a character from X-Men. I'm being 100% serious, I've showed this to one or two people and they have said the same thing. I had to make a point of saying that you didn't paint this but its a retouch. The thing that sticks out the most is her lips, or the color of them. If you maybe made them a touch darker it may flow better...buts that just me.

The retouch is quite fantastic! I think you believe it's lacking because, though her skin is now dark she doesn't really have the facial traits of a darker person.

Yeah it's just a tiny bit unbelievable I think. Almost Emm slightly robotic maybe. Or it could be the shade of skin tone ..... :thinking:

... what do you mean robotic? This is bugging me like crazy lol. So in your eyes lighter or darker skin then? Maybe its the side by side.. if i only looked at the retouch what would you then think... #helpless! Thanx for the compliment as well!!!

Hehehe your welcome. Ok it's def more natural when not side by side . I would try a darker share of skin also lip colour might help. Also might Sound strange but the hair might also make an effect

looks really good but i do see something wrong with it, as if it looks too good...hard to explain, umm, darker one looks too perfect mate, where the untouched one seems more real, when i think of a better way to explain it i will,lol, great work though i love it

if you look at the armpit there is more detail in the untouched one then the darker one, i think the problem is the real fine details like the skin blotches, little creases here and there, nothing major just the finer thing that make the overall thing come together, and dont get me wrong i love it either way and you have talent in this(i could not do it in a million years)lol

Completely understood.. and your right most of the time that is whats most gorgeous in a person there natural flaws. However when retouching or doing a fashion or portrait image no hair can be out of place lol.. But my thing is when I retouch an image I like to keep certain things just to keep it real. Hence when I try to keep texture. But thank you very much..
