Dreya didn't exactly know how to "dress pretty" and she while she had a particular aesthetic she liked, when trying to step beyond her norm her coordination skills dropped immensely. She rarely wore dresses, but today was the day she would! She wasn't even sure how she had gotten such a dress but here she was jogging in the show ring in a red dress, with yellow frill trimmings. Freda the german shepherd dog didn't seem to care, sporting a little bow where the show lead attached around her neck. Freda trot with grace and power, the same couldn't be said for her handler. She managed okay, but definitely didn't come off as strong as Freda, perhaps her performance would enhance the power that Freda demonstrated, she could only hope.
This was Freda's first show competing as an adult, Dreya imagined the competition would only get harder from here, surely these dogs have been trained hours on end by their owners. She felt the pressure was on now being in the older category, there's nothing better than an adorable puppy to win over the hearts of judges, she didn't have that this time. Freda had grown into herself, however, showing more formidable elegance than ever before.
Freda seemed to be enjoying her trot in the spotlight, smiling almost. Dreya began to relax a little, stepping into the roll of Freda's handler. Her kennels establishment was fairly recent and so she had little to look up to for guidance, she was driven solely by her own passion, although she hoped to meet other kennels and handlers along the way, building new friendships and alliances.
When the nerves subsided she enjoyed taking a look at all of the other dogs there, such a variety to see. If only she could go around the ring and pet them all!
