Description The Realm Of Fractal Chaos Is A Departure Of The Fractal Art Compositions You're Accustom To Seeing From Me; In That I'm Not Looking To Create Anything And Letting The Pieces Fall Where There's A Fit.

For Those Of You That Like The Fringe Wild Stuff, This Fractal Art Creation Explores The Chaotic Abstraction Of Fractals.

Essentially What You Have Before Is A Fractal Abstract Composition In Which I've Placed 26 Different Fractals Together with The Sides That Make The Most Likely Fit.

There Has Been No Color Modification And Only Some Modification To Eliminate The Square Edges That Would Generate All Sorts Of Unpleasant Visual Artifacts And To Reduce Excessive Graininess Since I Opted To Use These Types Of Flames Due To There Interesting Features.

To Make Things A Bit More Interesting Looking I Added A PE Craquelure Texture To The Image Giving It An Antiquated Look. I Have The Non Textured And Textured Version On My Xzendor7 Zazzle Account.

For Those Of You Familiar With My Work You'll Notice That A Few Of These Fractal Elements I've Used In Other Fractal Art Compositions.

This Should Give Those Of You Interested In Creating Alternative Fractal Art An Answer As To How You Can Use Your Own Fractals To Create Interesting Scenes.

If You Tend To Think Of It As Though You're Assembling A Jig Saw Puzzle Things Should Be Much Easier For You In Creating Multiple Element Fractal Art Scenes.

It's All About Letting Your Eyes And Imagination Explore The Realm Of Fractal Possibilities; Don't Let The Math Work You, Instead You Should Be Working The Math.

As With My Other Fractal Artwork I've Used The Fractron 9000 Fractal Generator To Generate My Fractals (Because It's Really Fast), The Photo Elements Image Editor To Assemble The Fractal Elements And The PhotoImpact Image Editor To Create The Text Elements.

I Just Threw The The Piece Together Where They Fit Best.

I'm not surprised that so many people love this! Raw fractals often look a bit like this, though of course not nearly as polished. I haven't figured out how to use layers yet, myself. I think that once I learn, I'll be able to do much more.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

xzendor7 In reply to fractal1 [2012-01-02 17:25:54 +0000 UTC]

Well Rosalinde To Use Layers, Like In Photoshop, Photo Elements, PhotoImpact And Many Other Modern Image Editors - Either Create A New Layer And An Image To It, Drag In Image Into A File Your Working On And The Software Auto Creates A New Layer For It, Or Use A Place Or Add As Object Function Into The File You're Working On.

Then You Can Use These Properties To Have Layers Bleed One Into The Other (I'm Assuming You're Working With A Black Background On All Your Files), Screen (Photoshop, Photo Elements And Other Photoshop Equivalents), Ligter, Lighting, Inverse Mutiply (PhotoImpact Or Similar Image Editor).

This Is A Start, Then Just Experiment.

Sorry For Some Of The Cryptic Not Fully Explained Thoughts Rosalinde.

To Be More Precise, Most Major Applications Like Photoshop, Photo Elements, PhotoImpact, Gimp, Corel Painter Or Paint Shop Pro And Others Have A Direct Layers Or Object Function.

In PS Or PE, When You Have An Open File And Want To Add Another Image To It You Can Use The Place Function To Import An Image As A New Layer. If You Have To Files Open You Can Select From One File The Entire Image Or A Portion Of It With The Select Tool And Drag and Drop It Into The Other Open File And A New Layer Is Automatically Created.
You Can Create New Layers In An Application Through Duplication, Copy Or Cut As Well. An Interesting Thing With PE I'm Assuming It Applies To PS As Well, Is That You Can Select A Layer And You Can Select A Portion Of That Layer And Create Another Layer From It.

When Your Working With An Image Editor Like PhotoImpact They Use The Term Layers But Ech File Element Is An Object. The System They Employ Is Much More Flexible Because You Can Paste Or Drag And Drop Any Image From Wherever Into An Open File, Copy An Image To The Clipboard And Paste It As A Selection Creating An Object Layer Or Drag And Drop From Another Open File In The Application. PhotoImpact Does Not Support Selecting Portions Of A Layer To Create New Layers.

A Big Problem With PI Is It's Abysmal Memory Handling Capabilities Which Make Working With Many Layers Or Large Files A Real Hassle; As The Program Can Drag To An Almost Dead Stop As It Process Various Functions. But For Small File Sizes It's A Breeze And The Tool Set Is Much Easier And Intuitive To Use. It's Too Bad When Corel Purchased PhotoImpact They Chose To Cease Development Of The Software.

Gimp And Corel Image editing Applicatons Work Similar To PS, But I Haven't Used Any Of These In Years So I Can't Speak As To The Current Feature Set Implementation. Corel Painter 12 Though Has A Very Complex Tool Set. They Hold Webinars Regularly On Using The Tool And You Can View Past Webinars At The Corel Website, So That You Can See What This Application Is Capable Of Doing. Painter 12 Is Now Running At About 350 Dollars, Making It Much Cheaper Than Photoshop CS5 Or It's Deluxe Variant.

I Do Know That Gimp 2.8 When It's Released Should Put It Neck In Neck With PS As Many Major Changes Have Been Made. The Release Date For It Should Be Some In The Early Part Of The 1st Quarter Of 2012.

Another Application That's Powerful And User Friendly Is Serif PhotoPlus. You Can Download A Free Version From Their Website; The Latest Selling Version Is PhotoPlus 5 Which Goes For About 90 Bucks; While Version 4 Has Been Dropped To I Believe 20 Bucks.

Hope This Gives You More Useful Info.

One More Thing When Using An Image Editing Program, Always Try To Use One That Supports The Exchange Of .psd Files Since It Is The Industry Standard And So Many People Use Photoshop And It's Variants. Some Programs Especially A Lot OF Free Ones Don't Support The Importing Or Saving To The .psd Extension.

Thank You Nikola,

The Color Scheme Was The Original Colors When The Fractals Were Created I Only Brightend The Main Duplicate Fractal By Adjusting It's Contrast.

Every Was Essentially A Natural Fit.\

Have A Happy Holiday.

xzendor7 In reply to VeeSwan [2011-12-24 01:01:34 +0000 UTC]

Thanks Vee,

I Did Have To Do A Lot Of Clean Up On The Star Fractals As These Were Derived From The Central Fractal Surrounding The Radiant Star, And There Were A Great Number Of Noisy Artifacts.

Getting Rid Of All The Square Perimeters Was Essential, As They Could Not Be Covered Up By Neighboring Fractals Due To Lack Of Similarity. Usually When I Select My Fractals This Issue Is Minimized Because Texture And Color Are A Fairly Good Match And Tend To Blend Out The Edges.

xzendor7 In reply to VeeSwan [2011-12-27 14:25:37 +0000 UTC]

Mo I Haven't Vee, Due To The Fact That It Can Take Hours Just Selecting The Right Pieces.

Once I Make A Choice On A Main Fractal, Everything Else Is A Slow Process Of Selecting Complementary Fractals.

For Instance This Piece Ended Up With 50+ Layers And Me Working With Between 35 And 40 Fractals.

After Several Changes, When I Had What I Though Was A Working Image Then Then Comes The Fractal Tweaking, Which In It's Self Takes Several Hours. Then Comes The Recoloring And Then Comes The Blending Out Of The Flame Graininess.

Another Problem I Have Is Since I'm Working In Dimension's Of Up To 25,000 At 300 dpi Running A Screen Capture Program Just Doesn't Work As The Whole System Comes To A Crawl.

I Need To Invest In A Camera System And A Dedicated PC Just For This Type Of Work Because The Lag Times To Carry Even Moves Really Are Annoying.
