Description My phone.
I was bored, so I stuck it in the scanner and drew up some 'blueprints'. A couple of days later, I'd made this.

I've tried to include every last detail, right down to the tiny little microphone hole below the keypad. Materials mostly consist of plastics with different specularities. Caustics and refraction are pretty apparent around the edge of the glass bits.

If you don't mind me asking, How did you get that soft shadowing behind the on screen text, and is the reflective background simply a texture or a material?

Good rendering and modelling.

BlackEagl3 [2004-06-08 12:01:20 +0000 UTC]

that really is a lot of detail. Ive been using C4D for like a month and the only thing is find it difficult is to create a model, i guess i need more practice and experience

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ya3 In reply to BlackEagl3 [2004-06-08 12:25:44 +0000 UTC]

But your cars are really well modelled
You use the point-point-bridge technique, ay?
This was made using all primitives (albiet ONE spline for the main body)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BlackEagl3 In reply to ya3 [2004-06-08 12:29:39 +0000 UTC]

the cars are all NFSU Conversions with hyperNURBS added for a more smoother surface. rite now i dont have enough time to work on my own car. i have started on a audi s3 with point by point bridge but as i said not enough time

Nice work on all the little details, looks so real I could almost pick it up.

By "I stuck it in the scanner" did you mean to scan it with a flatbed image scanner, or do you have one of those nifty 3D scanners?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ya3 In reply to cyberia23 [2004-05-20 07:51:22 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! Im glad you like it

Nah, i put the phone in a flatbed scanner and traced around all the shapes in Illustrator. It was just used to get the shapes and proportions right, rather than measuring everything... so ultimately, i created everything myself.
