Description Well, by popular demand, here it is: the Nissan 350Z!

Modelling took a few days' spare time, but I'm getting pretty confident with this stuff now.
Soon I'll be able to churn out a car in 3-seconds-flat!

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the way this came out. The modelling wasn't overly complicated, and the body shape turned out just right which makes for some nice reflections.

As usual:
C4D R8.5
Standard Radiosity
Pure HDRi lighting
~1.5 hrs render time (P4 2.8GHz)

Comments & crits (...and faves ) appreciated!

Finished already!?!? Sheesh, talk about the quick and the dead, I just commented on the WIP thread... XD
Awesome job, you can see the improvement already, there's definetely more skill used on this one than the first.
Great surfacing also, perhaps just a tad too reflective, but it still looks great.
Well done!

Nice once again, getting good at this, the reflections are nice but dont seem to fit where the car seem in the middle is on the bonnet. Like the mesh is not welded proparly, nice to see you using the same rims as the beetle, quick and effective. ALso i would like to see a soft hard shadow, ie a hard shadow that is not to bold, if that make sense

I have difficulty understanding how it could take a mere three days to create a complete scene like this, unless you've been working with this program for many years, or you were following a tutorial. If neither of these are true, I feel hugely depressed about how someone can spend so little time on something so mind bogglingly realistic, where it takes me weeks to create a grenade in Lightwave that looks so bad it could pass for an mspaint production.
On the other hand, that is a magnificent model, and fairly simple yet effective surfaces.

It looks just beautiful! you've done a perfcet job on this one and if i may ask how did you do the moddeling? using NURBS? i'm just begining to learn C4D and i've noticed that its a pretty damn good and easy to learn program

still looks a bit edgy, but that's ok I guess... you're learning amazingly fast!
You really should try Maya it offers so many great possibilities and breaks all the boundaries of cinema 4D

ragingpixels In reply to NDKayJah [2004-07-07 23:57:55 +0000 UTC]

yeah, but first he has to get 8000 bucks(its 8000 USD in the states) first or something equivalent to that, before he can start messing with it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

NDKayJah In reply to ragingpixels [2004-07-08 04:38:54 +0000 UTC]

there are student liceneses for around 500 bucks... 8000 is the unlimited package btw... complete (2000) would be enough to start
and well cinema 4D 8.5 is quite expensive, too.

ya3 In reply to loth [2004-07-07 13:56:51 +0000 UTC]

nah, something like >50,000 polys (after 4x hypernurbs subdivisions). the lack of curves is just my bad modelling
