OMG! This is fantastic! The folds of the skirt are soooooo great! Do you use references for the folds? They look so real.
And the head piece ... How on earth do you find the patience to draw something like this? The effect is completely breathtaking, but the work behind it ... I don't even want to know how long it took you to finish this painting (well ... as a matter of fact, I want to know - now this is the project where you needed the minions for?)

Yes, I almost always use references for the gown folds. Not always but very often.
This didn't take particularly long to finish, not more than usual anyway. Since I was working on several pics at the same time I could switch from one pic to another if I got bored. And yes, making repetitious details (like the gold piping which this gown doesn't have) took ages to make as it was exactly the same procedure in every pic as well as mind numbing...

Golden lace use in perfection! She looks very elegant, and the ombre colouring of her dress is lovely. And that tree crown - can't even find a proper word for this. Might seem a bit over the top on it's own, but it fits the outfit so wonderfully. Is she a princess?

I am particularly pleased with her gown, the pleats and the folds and the colour change. It was a fair challenge and I actually had to redo her gown 2 times because the first time it looked just wrong...

It must also be ultra-light, as if it was real hair it would weigh about a tonne maybe!
