Well, I don't believe Ace was a horrible big brother. Yes, his lifestyle made it next to impossible for him to have any real impact in Luffy's life, but he doesn't go out of his way to hurt Luffy. If anything, he strives to correct his mistakes, albeit not always succeeding.
And this was made long before we knew about Itachi's true intentions

Oh, not ALL big brothers. I mean, look at One Piece! All Sabo did was get himself offed by a Tenryuubito, and poor Ace just mistreated Luffy for a few months when they were children, then went and got himself killed and let himself traumatically die in his brother's arms after promising not to, despite the fact that said brother lost ten years of his life trying to rescue him.
...Hm... Oh well, at least most of the stuff in One Piece wasn't intentional. And Luffy still likes his brothers, so it doesn't really matter, right?

Luffy liking his brother has no bearing on how good of a brother they are - for example, Ritsuka still loves Seimei, but Seimei has done extremely awful things to Rtisuka and Soubi, among others.
Besides, I'm not saying that all big brothers are bad. Edward Elric is an incredible older brother, as is Rin Okumura.

Not really. I mean, okay, sure he did do some crap, but, I mean, Sasuke WAS kind of the most important thing in the world to Itachi, and he did do quite a lot just to protect him. But I think after being forced to massacre your entire family, you'd kinda have some major guilt issues and I just think he went overboard with the whole wanting Sasuke to kill him thing...I think he pushed Sasuke towards revenge a little too much. I mean, his last action was completely removing Orochimaru from Sasuke and giving him his Amaterasu to protect him from Madara. *shrugs* I think he was the best big brother he could possibly be given his circumstances. I'd like to see anyone do better. *feels very strongly about this, in case you couldn't tell...*

Eh, with both the Uchihas I just try to put myself in their shoes and I find them instantly impossible to hate. Although, if I were in the situation, I may not have used the "I am an avenger" line QUITE as much as Sasuke...So annoying, maybe, hate, no. ^-^

I've played the PS3 Shippuden game.
And if u ask me Kaito is more like Sasuke mainly because they're both after revenge.
Kaito became a cop and leader of the Wind G-Men to get revenge on all Stormriders for the death of Gazeele, while Sasuke formed Taka to get revenge on the Leaf Village for making Itachi do what he did before his death.

I have read the manga up through his big fight with Sasuke, I know what happens. I know the aftermath. Still, he was very abusive to Sasuke while in Akatsuki
