The choice between letting them drag you into the flames of toxicity with them, leaving both of you to burn, or choosing to leave and be free to live your own life is immensely painful and can even feel like an unfair choice, but in the end, it's the better thing to do. Just because it's the better option doesn't mean it's without pain, though.
I have to say, I like that you're being creative with the goretember prompt, such as by using the Amputation prompt to show the pain of cutting off a toxic relationship rather than just drawing a severed limb.

And it can feel like you're killing the other person too, like you're the only positive thing in their lives. But the pain is much worse staying in that place where you get dragged down so badly. :/
