did you use a ghosting technique on the right photograph?
also, have you ever seen the music video for vermillion part 1 by Slipknot? this peice reminds me of that video, you should take a look.

Actually it was done with shutter speed. Low shutter speed and brisk movement makes the ghost come out.
I did see the video for Vermillion as I like Slipknot quite a lot, though this one wasn't inspired by it as it was actually shot before I've seen the video.
