Description
A preview of something I'm working on for Nightingale. Originally started to help me line up all the characters so I could compare their body types and heights, it turns out that I may get to incorporate some Nightingale concept work into a fashion course I'm about to take! That means designing outfits for the characters, and so I'll need bases to draw the clothes on. Perfect!They're listed from left to right in more or less order of appearance and importance. And no, I'm not gonna tell you who the other ones you can't recognize are! Then the story will be ruined for you before it's even released! XD
The ones you SHOULD recognise are the 3 main characters- Sofie, Emily, and Charlie (whose appearance is based on )
A couple of the other characters have made appearances in my poster artwork before, but some of their body types have been tweaked a little to prevent everyone from looking too similar.

For some reason what strikes me most about the nightingale stuff so far is that beautiful blue-to-black fade you keep using.

Woohoo! Multiple body types! I love that. I hate the "Only 7 faces" and "Only 2 body types" thing I keep getting from comics and cartoons lately.

If you look at most anime/manga, you'll see the even more conservative "1 face, 1 bodytype" rule. XD

Saw the 2 guys, some anime's have a guy who is rather effeminate looking but is a bad-ass like Yellow-dancer from the Third Robotech Series.

Oh, no. I'm not really into bishounen. My guys, when I draw them, are barrel-chested and muscular. XD
I'm more interested in making female characters who break the mold, particularly since this is a superhero comic. It's a genre that really doesn't care much for women who don't look like supermodels, so I made sure to give them all very different body types. I am a fan of androgyny, though, and there will be some androgynous girls.

I have said it before, but I'm going to say it again. This is easily the most anticipation I've experienced for a new webcomic. Well for a new *anything* really. I love the style you have chosen from it, how it seems to fuse the best aspects of different styles of art. And I already love the characters! I can't wait for this story to unfold!

I've mentioned countless times that I'm UNREASONABLY psyched about this project, and I don't want to repeat myself but dear lord it is hard not to. I will, however, say that this lineup has piquéd my curiosity in a way only silhouettes can.

I am very VERY excited to see what you do with Nightingale. But that doesn't mean I want you to slack on Sister Claire. (I know you won't.) I hope to see some more Nightingale art soon, though. Also, a fashion course sounds like so much fun.

I can't wait to see them in color! You have a critique request on this, but I only really have one thing (which is more of a question than anything else): how tall is Sophie compared to her white cane? Also, how is she holding it? I'm not sure what style of cane you have her using, but the ones that I've usually seen (and I know, they make them in varying lengths) are generally around the same height as the person using them. Is she holding it in a pencil grip? If you'd like, I can put you in touch with one of my friends who can tell you more than you'll ever need to know (but will be happy knowing!) about white canes, their sizing, grip and all that. <3
