I always thought US!Mettaton is maybe hmmm more shy rather than depress like Blooky?
And like a friend said, maybe Papyrus still hates jokes/puns?
Or I dunno I always thought the characters in Underswap
would still keep certain traits from the original even though they switch places,
I'm not caught up at all on all the rules and how it works, but I'd like to try my interpretations too ^3^

Underswap is often interpreted as a carbon copy of Undertale, I generally prefer when people make headcanons and have the characters keep a few of their traits. It's more interesting that way.

I actually quite like the idea that the swapped characters keep some of their traits too. An example that I like, is that Undyne still has quite a short temper.

I go by the idea that certain traits don't change in the Underswap: Papyrus not caring for jokes/puns, Mettaton being flamboyant (but only around those he trusts), Alphys love for noodles and anime, etc.
