Description
This is the fourth of 5 pieces I did for a friend in Israel. She's a belly dancer so that's what I tried to create in my pieces. No comments on their conservative appearance please! In traditional belly dancing, only women were present since the dance form was for encouraging fertility.

Each of the 5 dancers represents an element of the Eastern Zodiac (Rat, Ox, etc….)

Here’s a little insight into it that I got from one of my favorite books on the subject, “The Handbook of Chinese Horoscopes” by Theodora Lau:

Metal: color is white, season is autumn, weather is dry; associated with the sense of hearing and the lungs. Those born in a year ruled by Metal are considered rigid and resolute. They are guided by strong feelings and will go after their goals with intensity and little hesitation. They are success-oriented and determined. They are the loners of the elemental signs and don’t like interference. They are good with money (the Chinese character for metal is also the one for gold). Their main shortcoming is that they have trouble letting go when a situation goes bad… too unreasonably stubborn.
