The Watson-Smit MKIV Infantry Rifle is a semi-automatic rifle designed by Garrison Watson Smit and used by the Ymirestian Planetary Defense Force (Y.P.D.F). Development of the weapon started in 2116 and was officially adopted by the Ymirestian military in 2119 after the Battle for Mount Arish, which was one of many battles fought during the Enclave-Consor War on Ymirest (2101 - 2145). The weapon was quickly given to troops a day after its adoption and first saw service during the Battle for Snowdrop Pass on October 5th, 2122. The weapon's rate of fire is 40-50 rounds per minute, can hold up to 8 rounds, and weighs 9.6 lb (4.35 kg) to 10.5 lb.Even after the Enclave-Consor War ended, the MKIV Infantry Rifle continued to see service in other wars and to this day, is still used by the Y.P.D.F. However, the original model of the rifle was retired by the military on December 19 of 2159 and it would be its 3 variants that would take the original model's place.
