Description Ep.12: Defensive Position

The night view shows a unique shot of Berna at a river displaying her magnitude to a rare Fosterovenator churei. Fosterovenator is a smaller carnivorous relative of Ceratosaurus. This individual is 4 meters long. Unusual for the 11 meter long Brontosaurus to keep her defensive position on this small carnivore. Here she whips off her magnificent tail creating a splash of water that might just be enough to scare this theropod. With 14 years old she is very large, but the subadult herd seems to have suffered some attacks.
The next morning, it is observed that one of the members of the herd had died: a young female. Her cause of death is most likely predatorial, as her bite wounds seem very deep and characteristic of a large predatory dinosaur. There are lots around here. Mysterious is the reason for why the predators left the young female for dead. It seems Berna and the other Brontosaurus have spent the night standing their ground against anything that might be a threat to the wounded member, including the nocturnal Fosterovenator that just wanted a piece of free meat.

Details is kind of not my specialty. I might have needed a bit more work, time and patience for that, and its hard when you're drawing on a computer. In paper, details are much more prefered, the problem would be making the colours and the light work...

Nice seeing a absurd theropod beingΒ  illustrated. Though the neck seems to be off, and the forth finger is also too long. But overall, this looks nice.

Thanks for the reply. We never know because we only know the fibula and the tibia of the Fosterovenator, so the rest is speculative.

No problem. But in comparison to other ceratosaurids and other four fingered theropods like Eoraptor, the forth finger on the back of the arm is the smallest.Β

Yes indeed that's the case. Oh well, it seems I didn't payed attention to that detail. But again, speculatively speaking, its also a possibility it had an enlarged fourth finger. After all, conservative reconstructions of incomplete specimens is clichΓ©. We know Fosterovenator was a ceratosaur, but what kind, and how it looked like out of that part of the leg, its uncertain. But thanks for the advice nevertheless.

Yeah, that make some sense. Also your welcome for this small debate.
