Background:

Working at M @ cy’s for four years without any sign of a promotion really takes a toll on a person—and if you were to ask him, Luxent would be saddened to say that such was the case for him. The only part of his history that he’s willing to divulge, Lux’s time at the clothing store could typically be called a tale of woe; he had started off among the ranks of the customer service employees, tending to the masses and offering of the giant corporation’s many cosmetic wares. Not exactly the most bright eyed and bushy-tailed of them all, but he was one hell of a hard worker whose efforts were unfortunately overshadowed by his rather nasty personality.

There were many, many, customers who didn’t appreciate the attitude or tone he defaulted to when with the public, and filed a plethora of complaints on the young man. He would have been fired on the spot too had it not been for his (and I quote) “remarkable, breathtaking” looks, which had a tendency of reeling in the average shopper so long as he kept his mouth shut. Demoted from his initial position, Lux spent the next few years simply offering fragrance samples to any passerby, all the while catering to the demands of his three tyrannical superiors. Said supervisors liked to call themselves a big family, but Lux made damn sure to deny such allegations.

So, why stay in an environment like that for as long as he did? Simple: he needed the money for bills. It was a struggle enough for the kid to land a job in the first place, so when given the opportunity to stay at his workplace under certain conditions, he really had no other choice. Really. It certainly had no relation to the fact that his evil makeshift second ‘family’ pressured him severely into accepting the terms. Definitely not that, or his fear of having to go back into the career wading pool only to face probable rejection again.

Despite the situation, he currently had a job in his field of interest. Besides that, it seemed as though not all of his hope was completely lost just yet. Sure, he was delegated to perfume spraying until “further notice”, but he was also recently told that if he ever miraculously changed his bad attitude he’d have a chance to actually climb the corporate ladder.
Which he intended to do...somehow. Being the coward that he is, Lux began to look for an easy out of his predicament; a sort of fix all for both his fears and default persona he typically liked to use. To better himself, so that he could properly pursue his interests without being held back any longer.

Fortunately he received a pretty established looking piece of mail a few days after resolving to that decision, full of promises of a new life and a way out of his current one. Lux practically jumped all over that shit—after mulling it over for about a month.

Personality:

Lux is an individual entirely defined by his cowardice. At his core, he is a caring, dutiful person, but unfortunately his fears tend to manipulate a lot of his actions. He sees a lot of shortcomings in himself and is so averse to others recognizing them too that he portrays himself in a dishonest light to the public eye: coming off as a rude, distant young man with a bit of a temper. It’s something of a repellant he likes to use to push others away from him, so that they won’t see just how much of a weak coward he really is.

At least, he tries to do so, but unfortunately Lux ends up sabotaging himself a lot of the time. In hand with his fears he has a tendency to crumple under any sign of pressure, resulting in being a huge pushover. It’s difficult for him to say no to someone in need and it likely won’t take much persuading to bend any of his decisions. He is dutiful though, and once driven to perform a task he will follow it through to the end, despite any complaints along the way. He is an easily embarrassed person, finding his past actions shameful once given enough time to reflect on them.

Despite his many faults, Lux deeply yearns to initiate a change in himself to rectify his negative qualities, but is constantly held back by his own insecurity.

Strengths & Weaknesses:

+ Above average tolerance to physical pain.
+ Observant—when he’s not spitting venom he can be pretty perceptive of others.
+ Empathetic, to an extent, mostly ignored.
+ Exceptional sense of smell. Probably could track things using his nose.
+ He can curl up into a ball!

- EXTREME COWARD
- Easily intimidated, just one mean look and he turns to dust.
- Self-sabotaging, he does a lot of things he doesn’t mean to do or talks himself out of decisions that frighten him.
- Talks before he thinks 24/7.
- Quick to crumble—any stressful situation will have him dissolving in seconds.
- PUNCHABLE FACE.

Combat: He will probably wilt at the first sign of aggression. If anything, will use one of his spray bottles to immobilize the aggressor and attempt to escape.

>> Has an immense interest in perfumes, is aiming to become a Fragrance Specialist at his current workplace.
