F: Tapered waistline, notably shorter and lighter on average despite showing no differences in strength compared to males. Unpronounced mammary-like structures form as typical to the standard convergent female Anthropoid evolutionary pattern, though their purpose is presumably only used for ornamentation. Their unfiltered vis jets take on a roughly diamond shape.

(combination of slow coming to fertility, and abnormally slow seminal replenishment cycles in males and the convoluted gestation process (a disproportionate rate of stillbirth due to improper or failed formation of an infant node) results in the Nucleo’s abysmal birth rate.

Physiology:
The Nucleo are a thoroughly alien species, that do not follow the biological template that binds even radically foreign biologies. Instead, a Nucleo’s biological functions are centered entirely around the Aura Node that they use as a life and power source. This node, a quite small hungry node, is contained in a sturdy sac of flesh and bone and can be fed or drawn from through various processes that mimic standard lifeforms, but rely on processes usually only possible through arcane machinery, and siphon vis from their aura node in order to grow.
Taking a look into their cellular structure, most biologists would be left baffled at how foreign they are, containing DNA and various organelles related to binding matter and vis in ways matter should not normally function, which means that on a macro level, Nucleo bodies have chemical compositions that are utterly nonsensical, being made of random bindings of matter held together by aspectual properties, and can fit any need with the right provided vis. Nucleo “flesh” has the consistency of wet sponge, and has no present fat, muscles, or layers of organized tissue typical in any normal lifeform. Some organs can be quite similar to their biological counterparts. Nucleo have a central nervous system and brain. and only those, as otherwise standard Nucleo cells can suit the role of nerves when necessary, it is unclear what the purpose of the CNS in the spinal column actually is for the species. They have a respiratory system including similar organs like the nose, mouth, and trachea leading to the Diaerous-Vas (an approximation of the lungs, a system for filtering and pushing gas into the cavity containing their Aura Node.) though the act of breathing to them is more like that of eating, as gaseous substances do take long to absorb and break down, and come in light enough form that they can be pushed directly into the node without risk of overconsumption. When a Nucleo breathes, a minimal amount of gas is actually pushed out from the Diaerous Vas back into the atmosphere, and Nucleo do not need oxygen to survive, merely any sufficiently gaseous substance that aer vis can be extracted from, though their respiratory tract can be damaged or clogged by liquids (leading to drowning or potential overconsumption of the node) or buildups of dust particles that stick to the lining of the Diaerous. Consumption of denser matter such as liquids or gasses requires dissolution and smaller dosages. Food is consumed through the mouth/esophagus and inserted into the upper ventricle of the Industrio Cibernus, where it will be broken down through a series of chemical processes as normal stomach’s function, before being transferred into the lower ventricle to slowly be fed to the aura node at a controlled rate. If one or the other systems becomes filled too much, or the sphincter in the upper Cibernus become agitated or give way, it may lead to Overconsumption. Overconsumption is when the Aura node in a Nucleo becomes too large, or has too much vacuos, where the chamber in which it is suspended will suffer from low pressure, which can cause minor to severe chest pain as well as damaging the viscollum (leading to things like Fractum sphaerum) in minor cases, while severe casing may end up causing the cavity to collapse in on itself, consuming the whole body and of course killing the Nucleo. In order to prevent overconsumption, at the end of each Aurae Channel is a semi crystalline structure known as a viscollum. As vis is circulated throughout the body through the aurae channels, excess vis will be ejected via the viscollum, as well as light and vis. These jets of vis are known as Sphaerum.
Despite their alien biology, they retain a remarkably normal physical appearance, even so much as leaning into the theory of convergent evolution towards the Anthropoid anatomy pattern. Though other theories point to Avalonian folklore about the Akashic, where it is implied that they have made the Nucleo. This is heavily disputed, though the lack of any genetic ancestors may point to its truth. Their appearance is very much like the Evois descendants, though they lack any hair on their bodies, visible ears, and sport an (rather unnerving) third eye. Their bodies generally have three pigments; one, generally the lighter color running from the lower face and down the abdomen, while a darker color runs along the top. The different colors can vary wildly it seems, but tend to stay similar enough. The third pigment color is generally located around the hands and feet, and tends to have much more vibrant colors than the rest of the body. They have slightly visible sphaerum jets denoting which type of vis the Nucleo has most of, and it is their body's way of ejecting excess vis to maintain a form of homeostasis.
Races:
There are two notable races as stated previously, those whose ancestry goes back to the original Avalonians, and those who have been reseeded on Aethero post firing. Though, over years of breeding amongst one another they are hardly identifiable anymore.
- Avalon Heritage: Taller on average, suffering from a long period of genetic inbredness (possibly a result of the genetic bottleneck that was the AEON firing) that used to be masked with advanced technologies. More likely to suffer from hereditary diseases. darker pigmented skin on average.
- Native Heritage: Shorter, with larger, less stable nodes, and as such shorter lifespans. Skin pigmentation tends to be lighter.
Diet:
Nucleo can eat just about anything and get nutrients from it, that is because Nucleo derive nutritional value from an objects aspectual makeup rather than it's chemical makeup. A Nucleo needs a balanced aspectual diet (O,P,A,T,I,Q) to remain healthy and functioning, while the body will actively vent out excess aspects as vis, light, and heat if there is an imbalance. Breathing is a part of their dietary activity in order to gain Aer vis.
Senses:
Sight:
The Nucleo rely much more heavily on eyesight, and with that comes an enlarged occipital lobe. Their eyes also have the ability to pick up on the aspectual makeup of objects more finely than even thaumometers can, seeing them as their own layering of coloration to the world.
Smell:
More sensitive than humanoids, but below average compared to most other races.
Hearing:
To say the least, rather poor. what compelled them to evolve without developing ears is beyond our knowledge.
Feeling:
Their sense of touch is average. Better than mine at least, though they suffer from tactile issues similarly to Evois due to their stubby fingers.
Taste:
Nucleo cannot taste things such as spices, herbs, or any normal flavorings, and instead taste purely off of the aspects of a substance. Supposedly, 'Biogel' has an excellent taste to them due to its 'balanced dietary supplementation'. I don't get it.
Psychic:
Like most non humanoids, there is a 1/68,000 chance for a Nucleo to be born with a developed enough psygis gland to make use of it, and far less of those Nucleo will ever even know they have such a proclivity.
Natural Defenses:
Psychology: Being a sentient species, they can think, strategize, and barter for survival.
Unique Biology: Literally no predator will desire to take a bite out of a Nucleo, ever. They are bad smelling and thoroughly unappetizing. Likewise, their lack of normal biological components means that almost every disease has no effect on them. (Though this also means they have no need to develop an immune system and as such, can end up being unwitting carriers of disease.) Aspect based inflictions will be particularly effective against them however.
Psychology:
Family: Nucleo remain fairly attached to their family through many long years of attachment, reaching adulthood by the time most people would be dead of old age. Young Nucleo (Motule through early Node) will still be in a learning stage, and take incredibly long times to learn concepts and develop their bodies compared to other species. In Avalonian times, it was typical to have the patriarch of the family's name as a Surname. (ex; Ducliseus of the Ulnos (family)), though this practice has seemingly evolved over time into the statement of allegiance their current naming system suggests.
Community: Nucleo tend to be very individualistic, preferring to do their own thing on average and were unwilling to work outside of familial groups up until the modern era when focus shifted to allegiance to a particular creed, way of life, or state over allegiance to the family. Those who maintain individualistic lifestyles tend to flock as far away as possible from modern conflicts that threaten to suck them in and force them to choose sides.
Government: Avalonian government is an enigma, not many records of it remain, though what does exist, especially in the Black Council era suggest it was a council system based upon the many families of Nucleo (as well as other species) who function in a sort of parliamentary way. The major divide in modern Nucleo culture is that of governmental structure and sovereignty, so there is much divide as to how the Nucleo should develop going further as a species. Interference from foreign cultures only further helps to dilute and destroy cultural unity.
Culture: Their modern culture is incredibly diverse, too diverse to touch upon in this article. Historically, however, those of Avalon contained tightly knit familial structures, though with an air of pacifism and progressive ideals, progress above all else, an ideology which ultimately led to their downfall. What remained restructured into the Black Council, where they chose to consolidate their resources and otherwise stay out of galactic affairs. Wrong answer again. They let the newly arrived Kelratan consolidate a significant amount of the galaxy's power and fought a war they were never prepared for, ultimately silencing them again until the second firing, and ultimately the total collapse of their societal system.
Etiquette: A recorded behavior since late stage avalonian society is that Nucleo have a remarkable devotion to chastity and modesty in their society, shunning frivolous sexual acts, as well as things such as birth control, sexualities, or modern trends such as that seen commonly in Imperial society. This is understandable due to their incredibly poor birthrate, something that would likely have started becoming a problem with the collapse of Avalonian society and mass death in the periods during and following. Such ideas continue even into the modern day, understandable as for a long time the Nucleo had been at each other's throats over matters that would make a Centureon confused. It is very important to them to maintain stable relationships and a positive birthrate, or they will quickly be outdone again.
Clothing: As Diverse as their culture. One thing of particular note is that with special filters and projectors, the Sphaerum jets they produce can be made to curve differently, or make shapes. Supposedly those in Avalonian times even could harden the emit light energy into physical matter as protection. It is fairly common to see upper class Nucleo use their reshaped jets as a fashion statement.
Naming: The Nucleo have a first name, and then their region of origin as a surname. Example being "Duosi of Machina" A Nucleo from the state of Machina. In Avalonian times, this was reserved for family groups, having the Patriarch (or matriarch) of the family as the surname.

"I still feel sorry for the Nucleo, all they've lost. Even though technically all of the Eldritch species tree has lost so much on multiple occasions, only the Nucleo truly have gotten to live on knowing in at least some fashion their mistakes. Watching them continue to fumble reminds me of our own struggles here at home in the past. Usually I am not one to say this, but perhaps they should consider leaving the ideological foundations to some other society after all. But, things appear to be looking up now that the major conflicts of the past are behind them, so hopefully they will finally rise out of the slump they've been stuck in for so long. But if history has taught me anything, they'll probably find some new and inventive way to scuff it again..."
