Description Vintage scenic postcard
Linen era, circa 1939

A. Karcher Candy Company

Image of a tiny man-made waterfall in Rock Creek, surrounded by woodlands.

Boyle Park
is an approximately 250-acre urban park located in west-central Little Rock. The land for the park was donated to the City of Little Rock in 1929 by Dr. John F. Boyle. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995, for its surviving examples of structures built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression in America.

The CCC was designed to provide unskilled labor jobs for young men aged 17 - 28 and to relieve families who had difficulty finding work during the hardship years. CCC projects were related to the conservation and development of natural resources on public and government lands. The American public made the CCC the most popular of all the New Deal programs.

I admit I knew nothing of this place before I got the card, and did a bit of research on it. I collect cards of waterfalls
