Description Warming up with a study of a cold little cardinal hunkering down on a hill side in the leaves.

I do still watercolor just more quick studies like this than full scale paintings and mainly as quick studies.

Me too. I wish I had more opportunities to do more. At the moment I mostly do them as personal gifts to people in the form of cards which I should probably start documenting. Thank you.

This may be a silly thing to favorite this out of all of the amazing artwork in your gallery, but I love cardinals. I grew up with a cardinal family living in the holly tree next to our porch, and they used to come down and chirp at us if the bird feeder got too low on food I miss seeing them now, so this caught my eye right away ^_^ I'm glad you painted this, and that you gave me a llama so that I could find it in the first place

Masking fluid~! To imitate this effect or use to greater effect for your own pieces, there are masking fluid pens but can also be implemented via blunt tipped syringe or a tiny pipette just be sure to clean it up immediately afterwards or it's basically unusable.Β

And thank you~

Watercolor is where it's at.Β Β Just be careful using large quantities of it, because like a lot of traditional medium, it can get toxic. Otherwise though, great for the whitest white to rival any gel pen. Just need to plan for it and apply carefully.Β

Silkscreening sounds awesome, I've always been curious about that process.Β Β

Now, now, there is no face behind the curtain here.Β  Β Look away!Β  Β

jk, it's probably one of the few reasons I don't post a lot of sketchbook pages because I tend to draw or paint over old drawings to cover them up or to make them into something new- blank pages in the middle of sketchbooks drives me nuts. Sometimes the effect is neat or the old image is entirely obscured, other times... it's a convoluted disaster.
