Description Model: Mariya
Lens: Nikkor 18-70 mm 3.5-4.5G ED-IF AF-S DX (say that ten times fast)

I wanted to try an outdoor portrait, so I asked my friend to model for me in a nearby meadow. There isn't much grassy land there that isn't covered with layer upon layer of beautiful and itchy flowers and plants, but I did manage to find this little spot, so I told her to lie down and she cheerfully complied. By the end of the shoot, she was covered in soil, bitten by at least three different species of insects, and had a genuine flesh wound on her leg. My job here is done.

Please give critical feedback! Tell me what I'm doing wrong

Tell you what you're doing wrong?! Not much!

If anything, I'd say there's marginally too much light on Mariya's face. That's about it, and it may be down to the camera's metering, given the dark surrounds. One thing that brightness gives, though, is a wonderful look straight into her eyes. The colours are superb. Nice work!

I was going for the highlight on her face on purpose, because that's the whole focus of the shot. But I think I see what's bothering you: The three almost-white spots, two on her cheeks and one between her forehead and nose? Those bother me, too. Next time, I suppose I'll have to get some reflectors and diffusers on set. (Or just use the burn tool in Photoshop. )

Pleasure - and you hit the nail on the head; it's just those 'ghostly' white parts that are slightly distracting. Otherwise, no dramas!

you know what i like abou yours. everything matches so perfectly. even tho it has a darker aura about it, everything in it fits very well. from the type of shrubbery, to the color of the grass, the color of the dress, the exopsure, the color of her hair but what i think works best is the bright reflection in her eyes. that just makes the entire picture come together!

As far as I can say, you did everything right
I like the dark tones of the hair and the environment which contrast with the skin. Also the juicy green is very nice!

I'm not sure what that's a reference to, but, in Russian, there's a famous folk song called "Kalinka Malinka," so when I read your comment I immediately thought of singing it with the words "Mariya Mariya"
