The pictures shown above are of a very good friend of mine in IMVU, and I know her IRL as well. Her name is Tanishia, but since the name was taken on IMVU, she called herself Tanishyia.This was during a chat we were having, and I asked her if I could take a few screenshots and post them to DA, so my friends could see just how cute she is. She agreed, and so, I made this little portrait up.
She's one of the coolest girls I know. Sweet, sassy, and always flirtatious. And she's pretty... the avatar does nothing for her real life self. Simply put, she's an angel. But, this is probably as close to Heaven around her as many will ever get.

Well, yes and no. It's more a chatroom, or rooms as the case is sometimes, with costume play and poses, some animations, but you don't have the ability to move around freely, only where the pose and animation positions are at. But it's an addictive little program, once you start getting new hairstyles, clothing, poses and animations, furniture, etc.

You get a group of rooms and clothes/hairstyles to start with and can customise as you wish to start with from these options, follow the tutorials and you will get some extra free credits to use on buying stuff for your avatar or new room, as yophan said you can get free ones by doing certain actions or people can gift them to you (not very likely) or you can just buy some, if you buy I recomend waiting for a notice from the site owners of an offer, as you can save a lot of money, for ST patricks day, I bought my name and locked it so no-one else can use it and eas given 15k credits for doing so at half price but don just buy credits rapidly, Yiphan has been there longer and can give you better advice then me

Each time, your created avatar comes with several different pieces to start with, but not very much selection. You can purchase new items thru the catalog, using either the given promo credits (which there is a way to get over 5000 promo credits within a 3-4 day span) or buying more credits via the site (or other sites) with a credit card. These credits allow the purchase of additional items, which is literally thousands, as a lot of people are developers of clothing, faces, hairstyles, etc. I myself am a developer in training.

Not really, if you use the promo credits. Which you can actually get more of without even doing anything really. You can net a quick 50 credits each day, just by going to the new products page, and if you find the IMVU Garage, you can play a little slots game each day, and possibly win anywhere from 5 credits, up to 500 credits. (I just hit two 500 credit spins in a row this week)
