Yes. I know it's still early.and yes, I also know it looks different from the WIP picture.
That's cause I have a tendency to play around and rotate stuff.
ahm yes, I just felt like doing a halloween picture since I didn't get a chance to do one last year. ho hum. this didn't turn out like I expected I tried using *zejeni 's tutorial, but I ended up giving up. I'm not very good with tutorials.
Oh and bits and pieces of the background are from Shaman King 5, the fight with faust. Loved that one ;D especially the graveyard scenery.
It's a little gloomy I guess, but I've been stressing like crazy lately so I guess it fit. I really like the gradience in the robe but not much anything else. I can deal with the background though.
I tried to make this more more colorful and such, but it didn't quite work sadly. I'm too stubborn and realistic to go crazy with colors
. I might use this as an invitation for a halloween party if I have one.

I love the bottom where it gets more transparent, how did you do that so gradually?
The cloak looks really cool with all of the different shades...I can never get the folds in the clothing right, but yours looks good..I can't do that xD

do you know clip/grouping? I do it for all my art. it's wear I make a layer for the base color. and then I make a new layer above it for shading, only I press ctrl+G and so everything on the shading layer will only appear on the area where the base layer is filled in. so even if I fill the entire picture with black on that layer, only the base (like a shirt or pants) will appear black. try it out, you'll get what I'm saying. so after that, I just selected layer transparency of the base color of the robe and deleted it, but still help the selection, then using the gradient tool (from color to transparency) and had it fade from fully colored to transparent. so since the shading layers were grouped with it, it only showed up along the gradience.

yeah it is. it makes coloring alot looser since you don't have to be so stiff and technical.
