I know that Dora and Flora are two very different girls, if you consider their ages, their interests, the way they think, dress, act, etc. That might explain why you hardly see them drawn together, therefore I just felt like pairing them again.But that doesn't mean they won't have a great time when they're together. Remember that even though each of the Friendsies has their preferred friends (like any of us!), they're usually very flexible when it comes to get along with anyone from the group.
What do you think these two might be talking about?

Thanks! Shading is actually about knowing where the light comes from on your drawing (in this case, it comes from the left) and giving volume to its elements. It's not that easy to learn because everyone has their method and how much shading to add depending on their drawings

Ooh, I haven't seen one of those lovely "web" knitted caps in the longest time, though obviously it's more for style since Dora's simple outfit indicates that it's at least not cold wherever they are. Flora's jacket is very nice too, very fine looking material (texture) and a simple, appropriate logo and zipper pull.
Obviously the older sister has been out playing hard, a little scratched up but none the worse for wear, and now happy to chat about her adventures with her little sister. Or maybe they were doing their own things earlier but had planned to meet up and spend a little time together doing something, or just hanging out. Come to think of it, I bet that while Dora's out climbing trees and running around she sometimes comes across unusual plants and flowers and things to later tell Flora where to find them; and when Flora is looking for new types of plants or soils, etc., on her own she sees places that she knows her big sister would love to thoroughly explore. They're a complimentary couple that way.
But now they're on their way to the Indiana Jones film festival: jungles and action β what could be better?

Me neither, I'm not sure what does current fashion have against a cap like Flora's. Dora's jacket shouldn't be too far away, but maybe she isn't wearing it as to not restrict her moves as she claims.
Older sister, you say? Flora doesn't have any, but of course she sees Dora and the other older girls as such. I believe any Friendsies paring compliments itself in a way or another, even Nuria and Sita together bring some fun as the former gets angry at the latter for even stupid things. And as you said Dora appreciates a lot what others do even if her appearance doesn't suggest she cares about nature.
In other business, I find a bit sad that so far you and other 3 deviants have been the only ones who have commented this one, when other times it used to be around 6 or even 10 deviants who commented on the first day, with a couple more on the second. And I don't understand why if the drawings and characters are always great, and I'm proud of being constant and still have time for them

Gah! Aida is Dora's sister β I totally forgot. It's that Flora and Aida are both constructive, passionate and somewhat introverted. Got them confused.
With the slow responses, don't take it personally. For the past few weeks it seems that everyone, online or in real life, has been especially busy. Except for a few people I rarely get to chat with anyone anymore, and trying to organize any type of get-together has been impossible. Some weird mix of post-holiday, back-to-school, whatever that happens to peak right about now.

I've also noted that some of those usual commenters haven't submitted anything of their own either, so this you say could actually be true, even though some have been absent for a couple of months already. I just hope they don't forget about them if they eventually decide to return. What I've done lately is to either use thumbshare wisely or to ask those who faved with you know, the feature promise. Both have worked well, though even with the feature (because well, who doesn't want to participate in one?) I don't feel very comfortable with openly asking for comments

Hmm, never would have thought Aida was more outgoing since we see a lot more of Flora, but then again Aida is probably always busy preparing and then cleaning in the kitchen a lot. Even if she's thin (only tasting a tiny fraction of all the stuff she makes for the others) she probably needs to get out more.
Heh, that just gave me a really funny idea, but I'm sure you have plenty of ideas on your plate already.
