..I guess the reasons you'll not be
taking any images goes back to the repair of your camera.
It's a shame you couldn't borrow one..
I know how I'd feel without. It's become an extension
of my being.
Do I sound mad?!(crazy)

Plenty of people doing it for portfolio. Model Mayhem is your friend.

You slow? Me practically moving backwards.
I figured you would, but it's like anything. You just have to put out your feelers more and more till you catch something. Same applies to me, but I have no experience of shooting models at all. (I can recommend some nice rocks to you)

Yep, jobs, money, success. It's all about being an influence on people, but first you have to 'lausibly' meet them.
Now, there's a good thing to start with. I don't know if it's my time of life but I have nobody to practice on at all. Which is worrying because I have no-one to train with either (OMG I have no friends!!) So yes, you can boss your friends around and as long as it's came out well in the past they don't mind doing the pose thing for you. It's a great start to have those sort of opportunities in place, but I suppose having a stranger who seems totally unafraid of your camera in front of you might be a little different. (
I'm an aspiring people person who has never been any good with people and therefore by proven track record never will be, but even with my 'non-model' 'shoots' I find that as long as I can at least acknowledge a person straight away, smile and grunt 'Hi' I'm usually safe from too much hatred afterward. I often find that the main thing missing from my most of my pictures are people, especially the landscapes.
No fear though. I'm going to the New Forest and Highlands soon so I might get a picture of a long legged, flaxen maned, fair skinned, majestic...
..horse =/

hahahah good one
and yes, having friends does have some benefits i never intended the shoots with them to be professional by any means, we were mainly just having fun
now that i've moved to a new country i need to find a way to make a little money, and since i have a camera and a pair of eyes, why not use them?
it takes me quite a while to make new friends, and i think the way you put it, 'aspiring people person' is perfect.
But hey, you do quite well with landscapes, as ive seen from your gallery, why not try and improve on that particular subject and possibly try and sell your work afterwards? that of course, unless you want people to be in your pictures.
and honestly, i think horses are better than people in every way possible

I know far too many people who'd agree with you! But wouldn't it be nice maybe to have a maiden riding one (eastern style of course) once in a while?.....
Want is surprisingly big for a (mostly silently used) four letter word. I'm not actually in it for cash so to speak. Just a distraction maybe, and possibly to get a little experience. Now you have a goal, to earn some cash, but do you want to be a photographer, in the established business-like sense of the word? I don't. Not really. I could make £50-100 every night doing standing in smoke filled rooms, shooting bride and groom, family and friends (It's networking too getting the jobs really.word of mouth) but I'd go insane. Three or four of them was bad enough ^_^ What I really want to do is surprise myself, to kill that internal critic and feel pleasant about something again. I suppose you can do that any number of ways, but what we all really want is a deliberate change that happens by circumstance ^_^
Yeh. Why not? Romania, was it? Using your eyes ^_^...I suppose you could do stock, microstock, freelance, portfolio, model...what do you want to do? Where do you want to take it? I think in the end what we are is who we are, but how we get there defines us.

Eastern style is lower down on the horses back..often without a saddle ^_^
I get what you mean. Thing is, you'll never really take any picture that hasn't been done before, but every picture you take is at the same time totally unique. As long as you don't compare too much it's easy to be happy.
I'm psychic. You look Romanian, or your first deviation has a Romanian place name in it ^_^

This is so wonderful. The natural framing is excellent, and the light is beautiful. The manipulated colors are very nice, and not overdone.
Good work. Also, there is a famous photographer who started out doing self-portraits and dressing up in character. I will try to find her again for you (if I remember).
