Β©Riot Games Inc.This is an illustration I did as a tryout assignment for Riot Games last year, of the League of Legends champion Lee Sin, to see if they wanted to commission more work from me. (Which means it's not the official splash illustration for Lee Sin, just in case you were wondering.) They did offer me more work, but unfortunately I had other commitments related to my studies at the time, which would have left me thoroughly overworked.
To be honest with you, I'm not very happy with how it looks. There are tons of things I would have done differently today, which means I've actually learned a bunch of new things the past year. Hurray!
It certainly isn't up to par with the awesome Riot artwork we see today, so I'm neither surprised or offended that they haven't made use of it.
They were nice and treated me fairly, so I definitely wouldn't mind doing work for them again in the future.
Despite its flaws, I hope you like it!

Honestly much more aesthetically pleasing than the current splash art for Lee Sin if we're regarding Riot's pattern involving Ionian champion art. Touch up the background and apply those tweaks you referred to, it would certainly turn out better than the current one.Β

I suppose his left arm is a little derpy but it's still a fantastic use of color and motion; Β maybe someday we will see your incredible artwork being used by Riot ^^

I notice you haven't put any notes in the artist's comment about whose illustrations you used. It's usually a good idea to be transparent about that stuff when you post an image using art that isn't yours, so people don't think you're trying to pass it off as your own. Ideally, you should ask for permission before using it.

When the illustrations were made for Riot Games, like mine was, the copyrights belong to them and you should make sure to let people know that. I should warn you though, that you shouldn't really be using other people's images like that, even when they belong to Riot Games. You are breaking a few copyright laws there. I'm not gonna give you a hard time for it, but some artists will. Especially when you place a URL to your facebook page on top of it. Promoting yourself using other people's work like that is sketchy at best.

Very nice coloring. 'Am loving the folds on the red garment. I think the pants need to be more opaque as well as the tattoo on his torso. The tattoo looks like it's only been drawn on thereafter instead of really being on his skin. Because the pants are so much less opaque than the body, they don't really look like they're part of him. Very amazing artwork though. I love how Lee Sin stands out.
