It was one of those society rules that had been around for hundreds of years, some said it was to keep the flying horses blood pure, and some were just racist, saying horses did not have the mental ability to keep up with the Pegasus, but Klimax knew different, she had spent a year looking after a heard of young horses, and knew that horses where just grounded versions of Pegasus’

It wasn’t until a thermal took her off course into a dangerous territory full of hard men, and small mountain ranges that her life took a different path. Of all the small mountainous places she could have chosen, she chose the one that had a human living on it, the human Klimax found out to be of the decent sort. And surprisingly she could communicate on a level Klimax thought to be impossible for humans to achieve.
She also had a stallion; he was aggressive and had no patience for the Pegasus breed. But Klimax had never seen a silver coat like his, she had never seen a horse like him, all had been small and refined, the biggest she had ever seen was just on 15hh, she was 16.3hh and this stallion he was a massive 18hh, not even the biggest Pegasus she knew at home was that big.

But after a month of living with the human and stallion, trying to figure out where she was, she began to realise this horse, was more than just a big handsome horse.
She couldn’t help it, some primitive instinct took over, call it an ability to see pure blood, or see that this one horse of all the horses she had seen, was like a king amongst horses, his blood could make her own family’s line stronger and bigger. But it also had risks, should she have a baby born without wings or with stunted wings she would have to abandon it, and risk it being caught by men, or if it was born with wings have the risk of it having a baby with none. Either way, if the council of Pegasus found out what she was doing she would be cast out. But if not, new blood would be brought into the council, well then a new line of Pegasus would be born.
She had to risk it this one horse, was starting to mean more to her, than anything in this world.
