My OC for the tournament

TRAITS: Roland knows the feeling of cold and hot temperatures in his back and is capable to withstand them, but due to his injury the pain can get in his way. Ranch and farm work plus an marine training had make him strong in the upper body and skillful picking up heavy objects from the ground, as well as capable to withstand heavy work punishment. The painkillers help Roland in others ways such as making the impact of an object or a punch anywhere in his bosy feel a lot less painful. Roland is great using handguns because of the light weigth the guns come with and the very controlable rate of fire. Also, Roland has great eye sight and eye-hand coordination, making handguns the easy way to go for him. Roland's marine fighting training focused more in taking down an enemy "peacefully" by throwing them to the ground and disabling them. However, he does know how to throw a punch and knock out a foe.

PERSONALITY: Roland is interest in people's personalities but will not push a person to tell him everything since he only needs enough to know if you are friendly or a foe. Roland almost never quits but he will surely realize when is a good idea to stop for a while or retreat for a comeback. Roland does likes to trust those who make it to his good side. However, he does puts a lot hops to get to that side of him. Roland dislikes to be violent but will use violence as a way to meet unknown people. There are ways to get around that, such as being a pretty, cute girl or a be surround by at least five zombies. Roland believes he is a nerd mostly for his addiction to collect any action figure, but such addiction won't go beyond that line. Roland will always look tired due to the meds but will be in a good or calm mood most of the time.

During his trainings, Roland was better with handguns than his friend but he never get used to use rifles or anything larger that a handgun. The day before Roland's friend had to go back to his base for deployment, his friend gave him "The Mercy" as a gift. Roland never saw his friend again after their last meeting before the virus.
Roland was worry about what to do for his future as whether to keep studying or get to work after college. While he was trying to figure it out, Roland work with his father in the fields of a big ranch doing right about everything his boss and father told him to. After a while of working in that place, Roland hurted himself in the left side of his back in a work accident. Roland's boss took responsabilty and help him out, but the damage was done. The pain was extreme for him to do anything outside home without medicines and the drugs make him drowsy when Roland start it to take them, so his participation outside home helping his father to work in the ranch was next to nothing.
Two months after his injury, the virus got loose and things when downhill for Roland and his family. They all hear the news of how the virus uses air and water to spree and what happens if people catch it. Luckly, Roland's old boss was an extreme survivalist and had enough gas masks for Roland's family, his co-workers and their relatives, and of course for Roland himself. After a week, Roland noticed in a work acccident that his mask didn't had a filter on and he was breathing the poisoned air all that time. In that moment Roland knew he was inmune to the airborne part of the virus, but he never shared his secret withe his family.
The ranch became his new home. There, he could get food and protection for his family. Before his injury Roland was in charge of fixing the giant, electric fence around the ranch, and that was he new job once back in the ranch only this time he was fixing it for protection agaisnt zombies and robbers. After eight weeks since the virus got loose, Roland heard the transmition about the antidote but didn't care about it. Two hours later, he was call back to the ranch. When Roland got there, he found his boss beaten down and at gun point by four guys with big assault rifles and gas masks. They identify themselves as mercenaries with low personel but enough members to spyed the ranch for a while. They needed it someone to get the antivuris for themselves and using the ranch to get that goal was their purpose. The mercenaries very well explain how all the people Roland knew where going to get slaughter and how he was the perfect pick for the mission. The mercenaries gave Roland two reasons: They knew Roland was inmune to the virus becuase he worked countless times without a mask (remember, the mercenaries were spying in the ranch) and that his whole family was there in that ranch.
Roland accepted the mission without hesitation, but also managed to take his handgun "The Mercy" with him as well as "dilemma", his beloved grandpa's machete. Without wasting any time, Roland packed some things and headed for the city without saying goodbye to his family. The mercenaries' boss gave Roland two weeks to complete the mission, or everyone he knew was going to be kill.

WEAKNESSESS: Roland's back injury makes his left arm and back his weak point.If roland loses his vicodin it would be a great blow to him since the pain is close to that of a woman giving birth. the medicine can make Roland's looks and movements kind of sluggish, deteriorate and clumsy, but while his reflexes are well his looks do suffer a bit.Also, becuase of the medicine, if he starts to detox, it will be the end of him. He HATES to run at all.Roland can be surround by twenty zombies and he still won't run. Roland might be inmune to the airborne part of the virus but his body does have some trouble fighting the virus of, so he has a slight fever that comes and goes which only makes his pain even worse. Cold temperatures really get to him by slowing him down and making his back and left arm hurt even more despite his medicines' effects. Beign a nerd with no girlfriend during college makes him prone to have big cruches in girls he consideres pretty, but no all girls are pretty to him.

ITEMS:
THE MERCY: a modified m1911 with hollow-point .45 ACP rounds that will deal internal damage to the target along with three extra extended mags capable to hold up to twelve rounds. However,Roland put an extra round in the chamber and always keeps one round in the chamber to save time while reloding the gun. The red dot sight is calibrate it at 200 feet, so anything beyond that is sure miss. The suppresser will still call a zombie's attention at a 15 feet radious but won't call a crowd or any type of unwanted attention so easily. The flash light is only a regular flash light.
DILEMMA: This machete was actually done by hand in the same way a katana is created it. In other words, the machete won't need sharpening for a long time. Dilemma belonged to Roland's deseased grandpa, who won the dilemma in a bet against an japanese sword maker.
Survival kit: althought he has very little things in it, the vicodin and other pills are the most precious of all his items. If the pains gets worse, Roland can't function.

Clothing: Roland prefers boots over tennis shoes becuase he can kick, work hard and never slip with them. The blue jeans are merely traditional of a ranch worker but the jacket is a prevention to cold temperatures. However, warm temperature can get to him as well, so the jacket will be store in the back pack. Roland has a turban that he uses for head cover and neck cover against zombies. Sometimes, the turban is use for cleaning, too. Roland had a work cap but decided not to use it. (Also, the drawing resembled ash from pokemon very much and didn't like that.)
