Description So I finally figured out what I want to do for certain with my Batman OC Leslie Smith.
Originally I had a history planned out for her, and it was actually incredibly dark, even for some of my characters, with a traumatic event that not only was a topic I was nervous about putting in writing due to being a huge subject for controversy, but would also later result in her death, long-term. The whole point of it was to teach a lesson to one of my former watchers who I had butted heads with often. Since that person's account has since been deactivated, Leslie's just sat at the back of my mind, not doing a lot.
But lately, not only has =the-dragon-childe been asking if I'm considering doing more with my wannabe-harajuku girl is going to be seen again, but I've also allowed ~Little-Red-XOXO to use Leslie as a side character with a plot point, and since then, I've been wondering what I want to do with her. After all, Les deserves better than what I was originally going to do with her.
...and then ~Yezno and I started watching Justice League together. And holy cannoli, Copperhead is hilarious.

And somehow when I was at work today, I wound up with Simon Curtis's song, "Pit Of Vipers," stuck in my head, and this was the result.

Everyone, may I introduce my newest pairing? Props to =the-dragon-childe for being the Queen of Shipping Names.
Not only am I going to rewrite Leslie's story from the ground up, but I'm now shipping her with Copperhead.
And the little line at the top isn't exactly a joke, per se. I'm planning on having them (as probably one of my more weird, odd couples,) totally switch things up as one of my pairings. They literally run into each other at the mall, Copperhead probably with the intent of causing chaos and stealing things, Leslie with the intent of shopping. And when the Justice League finally arrives on the scene, Leslie has somehow foiled Copperhead's plans by turning him into her personal pack mule to haul around all her purchases. And it just gets sillier and fluffier from there on.

Some DC girls pick up their rogue boyfriends at asylums or prisons. Leslie got hers at the mall.

I think I hated almost all the villains in JL/JLU as a kid, really. Maybe it's just part of being a kid and loving the superheroes, it's a hatred based on the principle of the thing. Like, "this is a cool villain, but man I hate 'em 'cause they're EEEEVVVILLLL." Mind you, I did not expect to like him when I started rewatching the series a couple months ago. I kept watching him goof up and be a total dork, and kept going, MAN YOU'RE AN IDIOT, and eventually, I just adored how stupid he can be, so I couldn't help it.

It's fun.. 'cause it tends that peeps end up loving the villains more than the superheroes.
I can't wait to get to the JLU episodes. I think the JL started out really slow :/

Awww, sweetie! I hated it too, when I had to be villains when I was playing with any cousins or friends growing up. Especially if I got tacked with being "The Biggest Baddest Villain" because I was the oldest.
That's very true. I do love a lot of the heroes still, but the villains start growing on ya, after a while.
Yeah, JL started out really slow. It's worth it though, watching the series the whole way through.

Exactly! I've taken notice how much glam companies give to their villains. DC and Disney are doing this almost all the time, I think.

That's so true, especially to little girls! Most little boys wouldn't mind being a bad guy, but girls are a bit more sensitive about that.
That's very true! Sometimes as the oldest, you've just got to grit your teeth and bear it. And don't be too embarrassed, I was the same way!
No one does villains quite in the same way Disney does their villains. But DC has always been top-notch when it comes to having interesting glam villains in their work!

Mmmhm, Disney makes them pretty charming and most of them have a motive for their hatred. Or, we get a superficial explaination for why they are doing their evil stuff.
Indeed, indeed! But boy, how I wish that they did interesting stories about Poison Ivy, for instance. I think it's very rare to find a comic about her where she isn't just a 'hot lady plant', if you know what I mean?

Disney's awesome at rounding out their villains and making them interesting and well-motivated!
Oh that's really true! It's rare nowadays that they actually give her interesting stories beyond just "she's the evil plant lady that all the guys fall for because she's so hot." That's a little degrading to her character, really.

Hah, the most funny version I've seen of her is the Kevin Smith version where she is a pot-smoker the comic is called 'Cacophony', maybe you have read it?

They really did! They kept her clean enough for it to air on kids' television timeblocks, but she's still got a strong air of sensuality and danger to her even then.

Oh Copperhead, you should have realized sooner just how good a handle/leash your tail would make. Having something like that is really just asking for it

Batman and the rest of the League don't have to outsmart him--he does it for them. He's a clumsy idiot, and he's kind of pathetic. Which probably means Leslie's more than a match for him.
