Alright everyone, prepare for a wall of text.Okay, so if you didn't catch on from my doodle from ages ago, my bestie *Lycan-Fang has an OCxcanon pairing with Brooklyn and her original character Allison Burlew, thanks to the role-playing community on Tumblr. Well, if anyone knows me by now, you know that I am a hardcore advocate for OCxcanon pairings in almost every fandom. (I do have a few exceptions in each one, because I do feel there are a couple of canons that you should never pair OCs with [ex: Mr. Freeze, Goliath and Elisa,] but for the most part, I adore OCxcanon pairings.) And I freaking LOVE the AllisonxBrooklyn pairing. Hell, I came up with the pairing name for them, which is Moonlight shipping. I have gone under the radar with the Gargoyles fandom in the last two years or so, due to a lot of the avid anal-retentive canon-purist asshole fanboys that I've encountered, but damn it all, MOONLIGHT SHIPPING IS TEMPTING ME TO COME BACK.
Well, recently, due to an agreement between Lycan and Brooklyn-mun, they decided to create a Thumbelina AU for their roleplays. Personally, I love the idea. But they agree that Brooklyn would NOT look good in Prince Cornelius's clothes. They found someone who had designed a sort of medieval costume for Brooklyn and asked if they could use the design, but I guess they never got back to Lycan or Brooklyn-mun. And I'd been asking from the get-go if I could design a fairy prince outfit for Brooklyn, so when Lycan asked me earlier today if I could design an outfit for him for the Thumbelina AU, I actually screamed and jumped right on that.
Only drew one of his wings, because I was feeling lazy. The sleeves are poofy, because damn it, fairy princes need poofy sleeves. His hair's tied back because while a lot of fairies may wear their hair loose and wild, he's a prince so he has to uphold certain appearances. The transparent shoulder pieces are actually armor, but you know...fairy armor doesn't have to look big and metallic and clunky. It can be just as strong and made from like, moonbeams and gossamer or some shit like that. I did try to sketch and study Cornelius's sword, but I still don't like how that turned out. The boots are rather simple below the tops of them seen here. The gauntlets I wasn't going to show at first but he does have them, and they're sunburst designs with either garnets or topaz gems in the center of the sunbursts. (I haven't decided between the two gemstones yet.) And of course, the forget-me-not chain. Because feels.

Thanks for the input! ^^~ I did originally consider darkening the lines a little by messing with the contrast when I scanned this, but it just did not have the same natural feel to it when I looked at the edit.

Well you've drawn so many great things over the years that it's hard to say what your best is
It really is an interesting topic, something that a person could write about for hours. Granted, there are a fair share of OCxCanon pairings that feel forced/just fan-service. That's probably why a lot of people write off OCxCanon pairings. But for every poorly contrived pairing there is at least one great OCxCanon relationship, I'd say.

I will agree with you on that, there ARE a lot of OCxcanon pairings that are either fan-service or forced fantasy-fulfillment. And that probably IS a reason why a lot of people write off OCxcanon. But you're right. For every poorly contrived pairing there is at least one great one.
