Yay! It's been about a year, but I've finally been able to update again! I would've updated sooner, but it appears I have left my tablet at school. D: Failure on my part, but at least I can let my new laptop adjust to my means. xD;

So, Hetalia is one of my new loves. It's just so awesome, and cute, and fwaah~ But even more so is UK, or Arthur Kirkland; so freaking amazing. xD I'll eventually upload more art of him soon.

This is a tribute to him before my slue of artwork. The claim for Britannia, named such after the Roman Empire came and took over the island in 43 AD; this was after two failed attempts in the BC era. Britannia was the title for the section that later became England. Scotland was closed off by the Antonine Wall and Ireland was left untouched by the Empire. In the 300s, Constantine was emperor. Around this time, Christianity came into being and was introduced to English, becoming prevalent over the Roman mythology and the Celtic religion that had dominated before that. After 410 AD, the Roman Empire declined and they had to leave Britannia unguarded.

This left the British Isles open for invasion by the Anglo-Saxons, a branch of the Germanic tribe. Even though the Britons managed to defeat several of the Saxon groups attempting to invade, the Saxons occupied southern England around the 700s. At this time, the Celtic Britons were moving westward and towards the continent, possibly to get away from them. Around the turn of the millennium, the Danish and the Normans began to occupy and rule Britain.

Just a bit of history, and trust me, that's just a bit. I can't even pretend to know everything about that time period, but that's what I can gather right off the bat. This picture is supposed to symbolise the rule of England by the Roman Empire and the Anglo-Saxons, represented by Ancient Rome and Germania. The rise of Christianity and then the Saxon religion (The days of the week is etymologically based off of the Germanic gods) and the decline of the Celtic religion during this time period. Both of these empires gave way for the English (Even the Angles, a Germanic group, gave the country it's name) and many other different countries now.

This is basically a WIP at the moment. Perhaps if I have more time later, I will outline and colour it, but it may not be likely. >.<;
