You ever have that one drawing you've been wanting to do forever? And every time you think about drawing the characters involved at all, your brain won't let you until you draw that one drawing??

That was this one.

For some perspective, I've had this idea in mind ever since I first saw this back in November. So uh.... I'm really glad I finally got to draw this.

But yeah!  Ever since I saw that Blossom Pearl reformed with the right side of her body cracked, I immediately wanted to draw Ash Pearl's reaction to that, since it would absolutely just be this. Ashes may be planning awful, bloody revenge against Obsidian, but in the meantime she'll be nothing but kind and supportive to Blossom; who undoubtedly needs that support and kindness after everything. Ashes loves her soft gf a lot and will just endlessly shower love and affection for her and all of her cracks, until Blossom heals from them one way or another (whether she accepts them and keeps them or they eventually vanish.)

(That said: there would probably be some level of guilt in Ashes, seeing as Blossom only really got hurt because she was with Ashes... but honestly, she'd feel more guilty for failing to protect her. Ashes is just a bit selfish, okay, it wouldn't even really occur to her that Blossom might be 'better off without her'. Her guilt would be more about 'letting Obsidian win and hurt Blossom' as opposed to anything else, which immediately just fuels more of her plans to make sure that Obsidian doesn't win next time.)
