The DC-5 was an excellent plane, whith the performance of the DC-3 with 40% less power. If it was not built in series it was because of the urgency since the production of the DC-3/C-47/C-53 was more advanced.
A derivative of the DC-5 with more power and a rear door could be interesting. I'm thinking about it for my story.
