The Final Piece for my AR6 unit of art for A levelI chose the theme of outside for my exam and came up with several other designs (which I'll post later on) This one was considered the best by the majority of people I asked so I went along with the crowd xD
The exam was 12 hours long and even with that much time I still didn't completely finish it but I'm happy with the way it turned out and even happier to my friends reactions to it.
First I outlined the painting with some dishcloth string which took around 3 hours ;_; then I stuck newspaper in some sections and painted over with different inks which was the quickest way to render that part in. Last of all came the painting part and I'm really happy with the lavalamp like buildings in the foreground which was inspired by Takashi Murakami one of the artists I had to study for inspiration, the other being Hundertwasser.
Anyway I hope you enjoy this work (for all it's fault) when I get it back after marking I'll try and tidy it up a bit methinks.

I used some thick cotton thread for the lineart then just some normal acrylic paints, word of warning PVA does not mix well with acrylic

thanks very much ^_^ he's a really interesting artist isn't he? have you seen Super monogram flat? A lot of his work's in it so just look it up on youtube. It was kinda hard to do something in his style just remember bright colours!

totaly awesome piece, i realy never got around to doing painting myself but i find just the craft itself so exhilarating.. your work here, i would say, is perfect unless you didnt want the excess textured look to its unfinishedness lol i love it ^.^

Wow.. I love it! The different effects on the buildings look amazing, I'd never be able to do something like that in 12 hours. I only had 10 hours on mine n found it hard to finish it. I'll try and take some photos of it so you can have a look. Well done anyhoo i think its wonderful.
