Yes, Yes, drawing exceptionally pretty boys does make the task ever so much easier! Hehe. I'm really blown away by all the amazing and inspiring artists I've met on here (including yourself) and how helpful and gracious they have been to me. I like to learn as much as I can, and try and improve.

Ah, well I think (as long as their nice and gracious) artists like to pass on their skills and inspire others. I know I have so much more to learn, but any minuet skill I do have come from wanting to be as good as those artist who I aspire to be as amazing as. Plus it's so fun to have an artist community to talk with. After graduating from art school, I miss having artistic friends around all the time, but this is just as good

I used to do arts and crafts with my Mother. We were always talking about our projects, helping each other with them, working on them together, critiquing each other, and plotting future projects. I've really, really missed having those conversations. Now I get to have those conversations here, and that is really, really lovely.
This place really is inspiring too. Every single day I'm here I see something that inspires me. When I first saw your piece I was so inspired! I want to do better, I want to do more! I want to get to the level, I can do such beautiful work. Thank you for helping inspire me!

So glad my piece inspired you! I still feel like I'm a work in progress, finding a style and refining skills. So thanks so much, it feels good, since I really am my worst critic (I probably throw out about 1/4 my pieces instead of posting them cause am too crazy a perfectionist

I got only a tiny piece of the talent she had, but I'm very grateful to have gotten that, and so glad that she passed on so much knowledge and technique to me. Now my niece seems to have inherited the talent in full measure, it's amazing, I'm so very excited about it. It means the gift my Mother had continues, and that is a wonderful thing.
I'm my worst critic too, particularly if I run into a problem part way through a piece. It will never look right for me after that. Like when you misspell a word, then even the correct spelling looks wrong. I go ahead and post a lot of my failures though. I've got a folder titled "Fail". I even force myself to look at them occasionally. Maybe I'm just a glutton for punishment, but I try and focus on what I learned from them.

Ah, I totally know that feeling too. When something's wrong in a piece, even if I correct it I wonder what else I probably did wrong. I've found that walking away from it for a while...even an hour, gives me new eyes to look at the piece. Well it's nice to be able to go back to your "fail" folder and see how much you've improved. I love seeing those MEMEs where ppl redraw old works. Gives me hope for improvement!

I've got a lot of my older work posted too, almost all the stuff since I started.
Yeah, I've started taking my work to go look at it in the mirror, because sometimes just reversing the image helps me see what is wrong. But yeah, it's amazing how much just waiting for fresh eyes will help me see what is wrong with what I've done. Unforunately I tend to get impatient, hehe. I want to have it done, so I can stop obsessing over it, hehe.
