➪ As Arata’s henchwoman she’s arrogant, careless, cold, and cruel. She can also be easily annoyed around people that have better lives than her. But in actuality she’s loyal, lovable, well-rounded, serious, smart, and caring like her brother Kaiza.

➪ During the Tournament Arc, Arata granted her the ability to brainwash people, and steal their souls. Like the other Primordial Dragon carriers, she can become possessed by Pendrago whenever two or more of them wish to talk. During a Duel however, she's able to communicate with her Dragon more easily once she has come in contact with each one of the others for the first time. But if she and any of the other Dragon carriers engaged in a Duel, they'll suffer real damage from their monsters. At times whenever a Dragon carrier she's made contact with is in danger, she and the others get teleported to each other.

➪ Divided And Damnation.
Reina Akechi lived a very poor but happy lifestyle because she had her older brother Kaiza Akechi with her. Attending school and playing with his sister Reina Akechi. But then one day, his mother and father got into an argument over deciding whether to move or not. The father Sasudo Akechi wanted to move to Heartland City after receiving a new job he was offered from. He even had the money to afford a new apartment to make their lives easier and more happy. But the mother Ohana Akechi wanted to stay in Arcadia because she’s heard how there is a notorious Duel gang residing somewhere in Heartland. And fearing for her kids safety, she didn’t want them to be harmed. This argument ultimately led to them being divorced, with Reina staying with her mother while her brother and father moved to Heartland. Life wasn’t the same without Kaiza since the two liked spending time together, and then one fateful day her life would never be the same again. The Primordial Death Dragon called Ritulious descended onto the city to eradicate humanity, until the other four Dragons descended to fight him, with Arcadia caught in the middle. In a desperate attempt to flee from the city with her mother, she and her packed everything they needed. But then a blast from one of the dragons destroyed their home. Reina survived, but when she looked around for her mother all she could find was her corpse. This left her petrified and sad, until a police officer named Dante rescued her and escorted her out of the city.
➪ Encounter With Arata.
Days after the event she awakens in a hospital with little injuries, but the horrors of that day caused her to have PTSD. So with the help of Dante, the man who rescued her, he escorted Reina to her father’s home in Heartland before departing to New Domino. She was anxious to see her brother Kaiza, but he never came home. Worst of all, her father told her he’s never going to come back. This devastated Reina to the point where she fell into a complete depression. She stayed home, but she felted hopeless and unhappy. That was until one day she came across a guy named Arata Igarashi, and learned about how much he’s been going through. She wasn’t afraid to tell him what she’s been going through as well, pretty soon Arata wanted to play a quick game of Duel Monsters with her. Reina didn’t felt like playing as it reminded her of the time she and Kaiza Dueled with each other. But somehow he found a way to convince her to play, and learn that she carries a Primordial Dragon. She loses the Duel but after discovering what she has, Arata gave her an offer she couldn’t refuse. He tells her of how he can remove all those horrible moments in her life. She questioned him as to how he can do it, and then he demonstrated by grasping her head and channeling his dark powers into her. This ultimately brainwashed her into being his servant, and her personality changed for the worst.

Now she serves Arata on his quest to make the world suffer.
