From the outside, Reiji is another cold and aloof loner in the school. He's always seen in a quiet place by himself, staying still like a zombie.
He's also very thoughtful, which leads him to being harsh at times, usually with good intentions (Although others will see him as mean).
If he ever opens up, he will become more affectionate and kinder towards the person he opens up to.
Reiji has a habit of smiling to people as soon as an eye contact is made. Most people finds this creepy, since his smile does have a shady/eerie feel.
When alone, Reiji is creepily dreamy, talking to himself.
Secretly, Reiji is very ambitious when it comes to achieving a goal, and might do anything possible to achieve it.
- When this determination arrives to him, Reiji turns rather twisted and hypocritical and heartless. But he does not recall the moments when he's in that state.

"The boy was born unwanted in the world. And yet, his determination to live keeps him moving forward."

Since his birth, Reiji was an unwanted child. His mother gave birth to him due to her own parents forcing her to raise him. They wanted a grandchild very badly and his mother could not oppose them. Additionally, she could not afford any money herself for abortion. Due to this, his mother never liked Reiji. Yet, she raised him due to her parent's supervision.
One day, his mother approached to the boy with a soft smile

"Why don't we go to an amusement park, Reiji-kun?"

She said in a very sweet tone. Reiiji was too young to suspect anything, and was only glad that his mother was taking to somewhere fun.
For the first time, Reiji had fun. That was until his mother spoke to him.

"I'll go get us some very good food. I'll return very soon, so stay here."

...

The boy waited.
He waited for days.
But his mother never returned.

He was then adopted into a small orphanage. Even in a harsh situation, Reiji smiled. But rather than a comforting smile, it was more of a creepy one. And he was known to be talking to himself and walking. Due to this, other children avoided him, and only the caretakers were the ones who kept him company. Reiji's favorite moment in the orphanage is when he got to star gaze late at night.

Unfortunately, this happiness did not last long. Not long after the boy became 15, the boy was invited to Aria Academy. The caretakers doubted the invitation.
It was obvious. What kind of school would want an orphan? An uneducated, mentally ill orphan like him?
However, the caretakers thought it was the best choice to send him off to have less trouble in wasting money on his mental health bills.

This made Reiji remember about his mother leaving him. His mind went blank, and when he came back to his senses, he his hands tightly gripped onto one of the caretaker's necks.
Quickly, he let go. The caretaker gasped heavily for air.

Now, Reiji did not say anything, but quietly enrolled to Aria academy.

"Only if my life can be happier.. I'll do anything."
