Description 's been bugging me to put this online, but I always kept putting it off because I never felt that it was finished enough. But here is is anyway!

Tadaah, my very first 3D model! It's a light space freighter by alien design. It's part of the Nullworld universe we're creating together.

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, despite the obvious curve-errors. Hey, I never modelled before!

Thanks! It's inspired by old Russian freighters and the Airbus Beluga.

is it using Ink and Paint textures? maybe its just the black lines, but it looks like it is

looks very awesome

Naw, just the standard Sketchup settings twiggled a bit. I still have to learn to use an external renderer, so this is the way the model looks while you work on it. I always thought it looked a bit like cell-shading. I wonder how it would look when properly ray-traced.

Those lines are a bit weird and not very consistant. I guess it's just a Sketchup thing.

yeah, 3dsmax's Ink and Paint does the same thing with the black lines, unless they're set up right (i usually only manage to get it 'set up right' occasionally, and through pure luck )

FINALLY!!!

Now we're talking mate. IMO this is one hell of a design. Very fresh. You know this already, but I just love those engine nacelles! I like the choice of colors, although personally I would've kept the ringshapes light-grey.

Anyhow, great job!

Do you mean the reactor shielding around the base of the engine pylons? I was thinking about that myself. On the one hand I think it gives more depth this way, on the other hand it might be a bit too zebra-ish.

Rather reminds me of the Wii .

Nice job. Has rather a "space lorry" vibe. I'd crit it better, but I can't think of owt else to say.

The games console.

From the back, anyway. Standing vertically, with the disc slot being the engine outlet.
