Detailed Information:
Personality: Stable | Supportive | Upright | Takes obligations Seriously | Materialistic | Practical | Frugal at times | Honest | Trustworthy | Comforting | Loyal | Cheap | Approachable | Hardworking | Moderate | Sophisticated | Wallflower | Dull | Dry humoured | Strong |
-Lota's a careful person who likes structure and order in his life. Along with his orderly desires, Lota is practical and realistic, being frugal every now and then with materialistic wants, preferring quality over quantity. He's a hard worker who respects an honest effort and will always speak his mind in earnest and honesty. Although quiet, Lota's a very comforting person to be around and will be loyal to close friends and family. However, he can feel lonely when left alone but prefers beings approached rather than approaching others. Lota lacks a sense of humour, making him seem dull and boring, but will surprise others with a dry sense of humour despite being one who hates surprises. He may not be the most patient individual and is slow to learn complicated subjects, making him a bit stubborn at times. Overall Lota carries himself maturely in an elegant manner without coming across as vain or stuck-up. He believes in the separation of classes and ranks, though he's slowly being forced to change that way of thinking. He's not particularly self motivating.
History:
Hyrule:
Years of servatude to the Zora Royals, Lota's devoted life of promise and opportunity had been taken away from him in a single moment. It was a life he had lived that he no longer remembers here in the world of Termina.
"You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?"
The chillingly quiet words echoing in the back of his empty mind; he had nothing but an unfamiliar object in his hand and a long black mark wrapping around his chest...
Born into a long lineage of Royal Guards, Lota and his broodmates were strictly raised from a very early age into becoming the perfect guardians of the Zora's Domain. He and his brothers and sisters worked and trained tirelessly, learning combat, weapon specialty, scouting, and hunting under the careful eye of their Paladin of a father who demanded nothing but perfection. Knowing nothing but the life and doctrine of an aspiring page, Lota was a complaisant young zora who grew quickly amongst the ranks of his siblings; excelling in all areas of training and lived without questioning anything about his predetermined fate. Lota saw life as he was told to and, as a result, had no dreams or true goals that he aspired toward. He lived to please his cold and emotionless father and to become a Royal Knight above anyone else. Lota carried this way of thinking for the majority of his younger years until the arrival of the next brood came.
By his early teen years, Lota's parents decided to have one last clutch of children, leaving Lota and his broodmates to rear their new brothers and sisters as his and her own personal pupils during training. Lota, in particular, got paired up with the 'runt' of the clutch: Loke. In the beginning it was difficult for Lota while he balanced both his and Loke's training; however, it quickly became clear how much Lota had underestimated his baby brother. Unlike Lota, Loke had a natural gift when it came to combat and weapons training and began to surpass everyone his age at an alarming rate. Despite his natural talent, however, Loke's mind always wandered elsewhere, much to Lota's frustration. Lota didn't understand why his little brother always looked toward the stars during their nightly guard duties and didn't pay much attention to the ramblings about 'dippers' and 'ursas' across the starry skies. It was thanks to his little brother's curiousity, however, did Lota slowly began to question his own beliefs.
"Hey brother, what kind of dreams do you have? You know, other than becoming what you're told to?"
It wasn't long before Lota began to look up to his own little brother out of respect and envy. Lota was envious of Loke because Loke saw the world with open eyes and imagination, filled with dreams and goals that were his own. Though Lota wished that his brother made use of his talents, he was content regardless standing under the night sky while Loke babbled on about the stars and the passing moons. Lota's end, however, came all too quickly, tearing him away from his family during an unusually stormy night.
The night started like any other night while on guard duty. Lota and Loke were stationed just outside the Lake Hylia/Domain entrance when the Water temple sentries fled toward them; both were gravely injured and claiming to have been attacked by a giant monster lurking deep within the Temple's dark and twisted corridors, leading Lota and Loke to investigate immediately to secure the Lake's waters. What was waiting within the Temple when they arrived, however, was nothing what they'd expected. In the dark of the murky waters, Lota and Loke fought with a mammoth creature as big as they were and very quickly found themselves backed into a corner. The two Zoras were outmatched despite their skill in combat as the monster swam quickly around them like a blur. Lota had the strength but lacked the agility to keep up while Loke's endurance dwindled quickly. In a panic the two made their retreat but Loke had suffered an injury to his legs, slowing him considerably; he was wide open for attack and the monstrous fish was hot on their heels. Giving little thought to the situation, Lota grabbed his brother and pushed him outside to safety, sealing himself and the creature within the Temple behind its heavily barred gates. Lota had no true dreams of his own- nothing to strive towards nor anything that he truly desired. His one and only regret- as he stared down the monstrosity barreling toward him- was not being able to help his brother Loke realize his dream of studying the inifinte stars in the darkened skies.
Termina:
"You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?"
Lota awoke on the sandy beaches of the Great Bay coast, weakness washing over him like a thick and heavy blanket. The dusky skies loomed overhead, illuminating the beach with a soft starry glow. Lota mustered enough energy to look up at the company leaning over his stiff body before raising himself slowly to his feet. Minutes passed by like an eternity as he followed the golden figure leading him further into the night...
Lota later found himself waking up in an unfamiliar place, submerged inside a large tank of water under the careful watch of an unknown figure. It would be days of recovery before Lota learned who this person was and how he came to be there; but, of course, his own stubborn and weariness would make it difficult to accept the reality of things for some time. Lota was now forever (as it seemed) chained and caged within the close walls of the laboritory, never to be able to feel the cool sensation and freedom of clear and open waters rushing over his body while he swam.
