This was originally really tall, and showed the top of the trees and stuff, but the composition didn't seem to fit, especially since they aren't standing. So I cropped it--but if you want I can sta.sh you the other version
I was going for a kind of romantic, but playful/cute type look. lol.

How do you shade so well?! Like honestly I can figure out where the shading layer goes... Under the color? Above it? What color do I use? o.o

I go above it! So you have your lines, and color underneath the line layer. Then you make a new layer above the flat colors for the shading. I personally use several layers of shading to give it more depth, but it depends on the drawing I suppose!
So your color layer is probably locked (so you can edit the colors without messing going out of the lines again). You can basically lock your shading layer to ONLY shade on top of those colors! I do this by right clicking the layer for shading (that you made above the colors) and I find "Clipping mask". Then you can just take your little paint bucket/fill tool, and click on that layer, and it should fill ONLY over the colors!
Then I set the shading layer on multiply--though you could use other settings, I just like this the best. You can mess around with the opacity. Then instead of drawing on the shadows, I erase away for the highlights!
I will add multiple layers with this same "clipping mask" setting over the flat colors, and I may add small darker points, and then some highlights!

Oh my gosh this is SO cute! That bow and those poses, and the expressions! Don't even get me STARTED on the lighting and the snow. So many colours!! In snow! Really really well done!
