Description
- Highschoolers whose lives suddenly take a 180° turn when something about their bodies changed that made them non-human (Shinichi getting the parasyte in his right hand and Kei dying and waking up as an Ajin).
- Both are part of a race that is chased by humans because they are deemed dangerous to them, yet that race can live in society without them noticing (Parasytes and Ajins).
- At some point they both run away from one of the members of said race known for being very dangerous (Goto and Sato) to the country where an old person took care of them, but came back to fight that very same bad guy to protect human's lives (Shinichi at the end and Kei at the beginning of the manga).
- Both at some point collaborated with the government, specifically with a squad destined to take care of the inhuman threat, either showing they are part of it or not.
- Their arcs revolve around questioning if they are human at all, with Shinichi growing colder and indifferent once he merged with Migi and Kei being like that since the beginning but learning to appreciate life throughout the story.
- Both's character arcs consists on accepting a part of them that puts them into an emotional stress (Shinichi worrying he's losing his humanity but learning to accept his inhuman side and learning to accept every race is different and has the right to live and Kei confronting his more rational side in light of the emotions he tries to bury in order to have a normal life).
- Both are in some sense urban hunters of those with the same condition, chasing and hunting those similar to them, being both predator and prey.
- Both in the end just want to live a normal life.
- Both rely more on tactics against those stronger than them.
- And a contrast: Kei's mindset is more similar to Migi's, who Shinichi has been in conflict with a lot of times.
That's all I can remember but I love this as an Alts (Cause Shinichi vs Ikuro and Kei vs Connor gang)
