What's this? A shitty D&D-style map on a Sonic/Homestuck fan-artist's gallery?
Yes, now let me explain:

In Icy Beginnings, a Sonic fan-fiction written by my good friend xX-Polara-Winter-Xx (specifically here: Icy Beginnings- Chapter 4- Ice cold ), Zircon's birth mother tells her about four elemental kingdoms in the beginning and why only the Icists and the Firans are left at the point of the story; ever since then, I've been wanting to map out the universe to make some sense of this inter-planer stuff, and now that I have 5th Edition Dungeon Master's Guide, I was finally able to!

I did try to stay true to Shelby's original set-up with the naming conventions, but since D&D's inner plane map has more stuff in it, a lot of the stuff here has more "Aetherian" names (i.e. the original D&D names): for instance, the Frozen Dimension, where the Icists come from, is referred to by the Aetherians as "the Frostfell" or just "the Plane of Ice". As for the Fire Dimension, I'm not sure what Shelby all had in mind for the landmarks or even the Firan's city, so I stuck with the "Aetherian" names for them.

For those of you wondering what the deal is with the stuff in the Air Dimension (the unlabeled circles and the wierd black blob with the whiskers labeled "Neo Prospit"), that's stuff that deals more with the other two storylines this universe has: Perfect Balance and Angels & Architects. I'll go into more detail with that stuff in the other map/diagram/whatever I'm gonna post eventually; for now, let's just say that after the majority of the war was fought (when the Icists and the Firans were the only ones left, and a bit before Icy Beginnings and Clean Slate actually begin), a hidden nation moved into the Wind Dimension, the only part of the Inner Planes with enough space to hold the planetoids that would eventually become the Outer Planes...

As for the stuff in the center of the map, the Material Plane is the "real" world where most of both Icy Beginnings and Clean Slate takes place; Mobius, the true ARK, the moon that Eggman blew up in SA2... that stuff all exists in the Material Plane. The two things on the side are actually the dual reflections of the Material Plane, the "echoes" of the main world as D&D calls them: the Light Realm, Solara's domain (D&D calls this area "the Feywild" or "the Plane of the Faerie"); and the Shadow Realm, Skugga's domain (D&D calls this place "the Shadowfell" or "the Plane of Shadow"). They're not really to the side of the Material Plane, but more like parallel to it and yet intersecting it at the same time... It's really complicated.
