First off, let me just say, I love all your scenes of Steven as a baby.Β I hope we get an episode in the future that shows his first days with the Crystal Gems, how they bonded, and how meaningful those first few moments really were.
I love how this is a traditional piece; it gives it a kind of texture almost.Β Is it both ink and water color?Β The background is simple, yet strangely fitting.Β It blends well and doesn't distract from our two subjects.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this was Steven's first word.Β Seeing how Pearl is the most motherly towards Steven, and given the fact that Pearl loved Rose so dearly, I bet she spent a good deal of time with Steven as he grew up.

Oh, and I really don't use anything special, it's just basically Prismacolor pencils (and ball point pen for lineart). Actually I used a stamp for the background, and just smeared the ink. XD
