Ah! Thank you! I’m really happy with how it turned out, it’s been like two weeks and I’m not like high key disgusted by it yet!

Hello there from ProjectComment

Okay, it's safe to say that Episode III was the best film of the Prequel Trilogy. Anyway, enough has been said about the Prequels already, and I'm here to talk about art. YOUR art. I think you produced a pretty neat picture here. Light and shadow harmonize and the simplistic color palette does work quite well for the whole painting. The lack of a complicated detailed background isn't a bad thing, necessary. Let me point out a few things to criticize, however. First I think you might make the color transition a bit smoother. In some parts, especially around the highlights, the robe looks too sketchy. Furthermore I see the "dark side" (pun intended) shadow part is one big block (or three big blocks, to be precise) of dark brown. I'd put some value variations there, or turn down the value to almost black. Also, Anakin's lips look too feminine, I think it's because they are bright pink, try and give the lips a darker hue and see what you get!

At the end all I can say is that I hope you found this critique somewhat helpful. Take care and may the Force be with you!

Ah, thank you! I definitely agree, more blending needed on the cloak as well as deeper shadow and I’ll work on lips too! I do appreciate the help! May the force be with you too, my fellow Star Wars fan : )

Heyo I’m coming fromΒ www.deviantart.com/projectcomm…

i really love how you incorporated the unique light source from below!! I think you did it excellently to highlight both the face as the focal point and the details of the cloak. The only thing I would suggest is to create more of a contrast between the face and the dark parts of the cloak. With the dark part being one solid color, it makes the focal point look a bit off as the rest of it is very well shaded and detailed. I think a small gradient or lighter stroke line to differentiate where the creases are would help tie it all together. But other than that I really love what you’ve done with this! Keep up the good work!

I absolutely adore the lights and darks that show the folds in the hood, and it’s very well blended! The face has great tones and colors that vary beautifully between sections, and the lighting is great there as well! I think that, in particular, the shine of the hood that’s resting on the shoulder could be thinner or blended more into the fold. Otherwise, this is a great piece and I love the painterly feel!

Ah, thank you! I really appreciate it! There were a few things that felt kinda off while I was making it, varying the thicknesses in the highlights where I needed to on the hood would've helped out with that. ANyway, thanks again!

The lighting on the top of her hood is vary nice, so is all the diffrent colors and shades on her skin.
Wish that the dark brown parts got a little darker, but it works.
