Regarde;
Ces deux vies, de ces deux moi
Deux et rien à la fois
Je ne sais plus qui être
Impalpable

Beautiful. epoustouflant.

I can't express into words how beautiful the poem is. It flows in a way that captivated me as I gazed at the corresponding photos. As I read I couldn't help but think how it would sound just as wonderful in English; you should consider creating one translated from French to English, and I think your eloquent way with words (as seen by some of your other work) would make for a great English version. And perhaps more people would be able to share the experience. Just a thought.

I like the last photo the most, and in fact, only the central figure. I would chop off the rest. The pose is so expressive... a very hard thing to achieve. Perhaps it's the body language speaking, expressing the soul for which it is a vessel. It would also look neat pushed into a graphic form to really capture it. Something like vector art. Of course, I am probably just playing favorites...

Oh my...that's truly beautiful.

Unlike Blackeri, I know barely any French, so I had to cheat and use a Google translation. It didn't get all of the words, but I retained the gist of it, and what was revealed to me turned out to be a few drops of cherished honey. The words were relayed wonderfully, painting a picture that slipped past my mental senses like silk. If I had known more of the words so that it was complete, I imagine I would be able to derive a beautiful bit of inspiration from it.

The images you took to go with the words are fairly simple by themselves, but when gathered together, and with your beautiful description, they magnify in empowerment. Stupéfier.

After you message I tried the google translation to see how damaged the robot would have restituted my poetry. Many words seem not translated at all, resulting in some kind of surreal interpretation of the original, with understandable 'drops' of english here and then. This translation leaves so many untranslated parts that it looses almost entirely the original meaning, thus let the english reader imagine more, I guess. Much like a painting: the less the artist says, the more the viewer can build his own world of interpretation upon it.

I suppose that makes it all the more cryptic and meaningful, huh? Well I'm intrigued and captured anyway by the broken words I gleaned (because you know how much of a literary nerd I am), and I wish there was a more reliable translation engine out there. Perhaps someday a translation from you would be possible? Heh.

i like the first two, actually. i didn't realise there's more at the beginning.
and i love the description too, you're very right.
'Je ne sais plus qui être
Impalpable' <- it's the same with most of us

I've been there

I didn't even know you could speak 1/4 french! o_O
I'm sorry if it sounds private to most readers... I don't feel advanced enough in written english to work out rhythm and sounds like in french. Basically it's a story about images we show as a disguised and incomplete projection of ourselves. Wandering shadows... But in the end the reader who has managed to cross the outlines of the shadow knows there's a truth in here that may be worth the craziest attempts.

unfortunatly, I know no French, so I can't read your description, but I love this just for what it is. I like them all, but the last frame is just incredible.

gosh, I wish my French was better. I guess I got the idea of what you were saying. Very poetic, about the transience of shadows, or something like that. How they're reflections of us, but the have no feeling. Anywat, great conept.

B xxx

Moon as single light source + tripod + 15 seconds exposition + (trigger with delay...run..6s pose ...run...6s pose ) ... about 40 shots

zancan In reply to StormrageJunior [2006-03-07 14:00:10 +0000 UTC]

Oh thanks. This last one is the one I worked out the most. I made a long series of shots and poses tries and eventually made this one. Moon as single light source + tripod + 15 seconds exposition + (trigger...run..pose...run...pose) x 100 ! pfewww it's exhausting being a photographer.
