BTW that Pikachu is Tygo, who is Zander's friend that died and up on his death caused the team Zander was in to fall apart completely.
Is it Tygo's soul or just Zander seeing things? You be the judge!

It's tied to the body and emotion more than the spirit itself. At least that's what I take from it.

Lucario would still be better overall at using aura and different moves, and could do aura techniques that Riolus can't/ can do techniques with significantly more ease.
Plus even if some Riolus could do techniques that Lucario could, the vast majority wouldn't be able to, unless they really wanted to, and spent a long time practicing.
