My first speed painting!
Silas - "It could be the end of the world and he wouldn't even blink!"
I guess I attach to the characters that are quiet, patient, lonely yet sometimes grumpy and silly!
Guess what fantasy creature is he? 
I really wanted to do his portrait traditionally, but I sucked at it and couldn't figure out his pose and face right. I'm not 100% satisfied with this one - guess I still have my art block - but I tried. Enjoy!

I fell in love with Silas while reading the book... I know that sounds weird but I adore dark personages in stories and your art is amazing!

I was kinda disapoint when bod didn't become a guardian and when Silas didn't die, only because that would've been really deep and dark
I'd guess he's a proxy

Its hard to say your favorite part is when your favorite character gets hit by a car, sorry it's just bod referring to Silas as 'my dad' was like the best shit ever, IMMEDIATLY I thought that the book was going to have Silas die, not then or there but later on and bod would become the next graveyard guardian Slenderman thing since earlier Silas was saying "no bod, you DON'T want to be like me,"

I'm about half way through the book, and I think it's very nice. So different from other books, but certainly also a lot better.
I quite like how you captured Silas' rather gloomy appearence.
He's probably my favourite character in the book, together with Liza Hemptstock

I actually never heard of this "Graveyard Book" but I must say that your speed painting is phenomenal!
I mean, just for it being "quick", I can't believe how much detail is in it, from the grave stone to the building in the background.

I have a feeling my friend is giving it to me for Christmas, because she knows I love Neil Gaiman and whenever I ask to borrow her copy she keeps making excuses why I can't have it.
Coraline is fantastic, I have the graphic novel which is very fun although I do prefer the art style of the movie compared to the artwork in the book. Have you read any other Neil Gaiman books? I highly recommend 'Good Omens' where the two lead characters are an angel and a demon.
